Default Bright Light Bright Light on Say You Will

One of the best things in music 2012 is Bright Light Bright Light's Make Me Believe In Hope album. He just tweeted about Say You Will:

Listening to Fleetwood Mac 'Say You Will' on 2nd day shoot with @thisisstroud. Perfect!

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Ok. I realize I should have had a point to starting this thread. I guess such an incident begs the question: Is SYW starting to gain a reputation do y'all think?

No, I don't think so. It's been 9 years, more than enough time to gain perspective. I don't think new people are becoming aware of it or that the years have increased its estimation in more eyes. I think people who appreciated it initially still do, but I don't know if its appeal has spread any.

If anything, my appreciation of it has decreased due to the incredible material on Gift of Screws, Seeds we Sow, and In Your Dreams.

Maybe. I have a new neighbor who doesn't know I'm a Fleetwood Mac fan, and while we were hanging out with friends the other day, he played Peacekeeper. This is a 19 year old very hipster kid who is hugely into music... Fleetwood Mac (especially modern day FM) should be pretty low on his radar, he's very much into the indie scene. It certainly made me wonder if there is some sort of underground appreciation for Say You Will.

For me, I just don't think about Say You Will that often. My mental FM timeline tends to end with the Dance.

Plus SYW makes me miss Christine, but with the Dance she's there!.

Say You Will is an album where the parts where greater than the sum..which is not really how an album should hold together.I don't see it growing alot in estimation over the years in the way that Tusk has and deservedly so.

it wasn't. Gift Of Screws was lightning years better than Say You Will. but GOS was so amazing that even some of its leftovers make SYW a great album. (and lightning years better than Mirage or Tango, for example)

EDIT: imho, of course!

Agreed I was being sarcastic that the FM album SYW was a gift of screws...
