Not to change the topic heading.I would love to bring back all of my favorite old country greats like Johnny Cash.Waylon Jennings.Hank Williams,Eddie Rabbitt.Keith Whitley.Patsy Cline,Tammy Wynnette,Conway Twitty,Dottie West. and too many more to add.

Like the old George Jones tune goes ."Who's gonna fill their shoes".

Nobody today will.

Not sure if she's classified as a rock star, but Amy Winehouse was certainly taken before her time, and I think there was a lot of incredible music left in her.

As far as true rock stars, I guess I'd have to go for John Lennon. Not because I'm a Beatles fan, or a fan of his solo works. I can't really say I'm a fan of either. But the man was so utterly progressive in his time. Songs like Imagine are more relavent today than ever. I'm inclined to guess he'd be involved in all sorts of fantastic humanitarian causes if he were still around. This comes across as completely stupid since he was just a rock star, but I can't help but think the world might just be a better place if he were still in it.

Karen Carpenter. There was so, so much more to be heard from that voice.

My choice, as well.

What a voice .Karen was my dads favorite. He loved all of her tunes. Now they are in the same place .she's singing to him in heaven.

I wonder how her brother Richard is doing.

I also enjoy the Carpenters music.Nice music to relax to.
