Default new Mick Fleetwood radio interview

NEW Interview: Mick Fleetwood re-confirms Fleetwood Mac World Tour - Begins March 2013
Mick Fleetwood spoke with Mike St. James of The Eagle 92.9 about The Blues Masters Concert he was to Host on Friday August 31, 2012 in Lincoln Nebraska. Mick sadly couldn't attend because of some personal issues that came up.

FLEETWOOD MAC TALK
During the interview Mick talks about Lindsey's one man show plus Stevie touring with Rod which segues into Mick re-confirming next years Fleetwood Mac plans where come March, 2013 Fleetwood Mac will be starting a world tour with rehearsals set for January and February. Mike St. James asks Mick about the conflicting reports where Mick was quoted as saying he was pessimistic about Fleetwood Mac ever getting back together again [Playboy Magazine "The Ghost of Fleetwood Mac" April, 2012] vs Stevie's recent TV interview where she confirms the band will tour again in 2013. Mick states that at the time he thought with Stevie working her solo album so hard playing all over the world, he said he figured she would need and want to take at least a year off as a break and was afraid it would be too late. But said much to his surprise, Stevie's really excited to get back together to play. Christine Mcvie was talked about and Mick says there's no chance of Christine coming back. They've let go of that hope many years ago. Mick said she nearly came up on stage the last time they played Wembely in the UK in 2009. But at the last minute she backed out and decided just to watch the show from the soundboard.

So it looks like this tour could roll-out much in the same way the 2009 Unleashed Tour did where shows began in March, 2009. Tickets and the first round of dates for that tour were announced in mid-December, 2008... If this tour follows the same path, we have a bit of time yet before we hear when and where the band will play.

Check out the full interview at The Eagle 92.9. It's about 16 minutes long

Am I the only one who got goosebumps reading about how Christine ALMOST joined them on stage in 2009? wow. seriously: just wow.

I think she couldn't do it. Because she would have gotten goosebumps too. And then...

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Yes, we heard the same thing for the SYW tour. There were rumors that they even had a piano for her to use. Christine said there was some arm twisting going on. Did they really cajole her to the point where it almost looked like it was going to happen in 2009 too? I wish they'd talk more about it.

I got to meet Sharon and Jana shortly before Unleashed went to Europe. I talked to Sharon about Lindsey and Stevie doing SYLM. Sharon said they rehearsed a few of Christine's songs but didn't like the way some of them came out. Eventually the conversation turned to whether Christine would attend and/or perform at the upcoming London show. Sharon said that when SYW went to London, Christine had recently completed a program to stop drinking, and she knew the only way she would have the nerve to get on stage was to have a couple drinks first, and she didn't want to do that.

I had no idea Chritine had finally had some kind of treatment to stop drinking.I still pictured her knocking back a pint at the pub or at least sipping a glass of wine.I guess the party is eventually over for us all.

Hmmm. And she was trying not to smoke too, I guess. I suppose the longer you're away from the stage, the more the nerves and anxiety build up, so even for one appearance she might have felt the need for prohibited sustenance.

I'd love to have her perform briefly, but if that's too much, all she has to do is stand up on stage with them and take a bow. Just seeing the five of them would be nice. Actually, I'm sure there is a photo from 2009 of the five. We just aren't privileged enough to have a copy.

I actually felt a little weird when Sharon said it, like I was invading Christine's privacy. But I assume Sharon wouldn't have shared it with a stranger if it was supposed to be a big secret. It's just that with Christine out of the country and out of the spotlight, there is a lot that we just won't be privy to.

Is this what you are requesting? Or is this SYW?

It's SYW .It's easy to tell from Stevie's hairstyle and the botox not to mention the button up granny sweater Lindsey made her wear.

No, but I love this and Christine looks great. She talked about how fagged they all looked after the show, which was amusing. And I remember Gail suggesting that maybe Chris was having a little go at them, by over emphasizing their exhaustion -- coming as it did, after a two hour set.
