Certainly they are. Just like the question of priciness is subjective. I felt rather lucky when Ticket Master was offering those special seats where you could get a better ticket for a premium price. I thought it was a conflict of interest for Ticketmaster and I already thought Ticketmaster was a corrupt system, but it allowed me to get a good seat without having to go through a scalper who would have charged even more than Ticketmaster did.

I feel lucky to get to see unique shows like Soundstage or the Saban or Stevie at the Wiltern. Whether Stevie and Lindsey should feel lucky to have fans or not is a different question, but there are many ways that I have felt extraordinarily lucky getting to pay my money to see them.

I saw the Dance show 8 times. Had I known Christine was leaving, I would have tried to see it twice as many times and if I'd had that chance and been able to collect those memories, there's no way I'd consider FM the lucky ones, instead of myself.

As for being upset, I wouldn't go to a meet and greet because I don't want to talk to those people, but I remember in England one of FM's security people (not someone associated with the venue, but someone working for them) came over and told me to put away my camera -- when everyone else was taking photos like crazy. He told me I was not allowed to have that kind of camera. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I felt someone from the stage told him to come out and make that request directly to me and I was very hurt and upset about it. I cried the rest of the evening. I think maybe they thought I was recording rather than taking pictures, just because I kept my finger on the button, but I've never recorded in my life and even if I had been recording, there were hundreds of people there recording, why was I singled out? As hurt as I was about that, I know I would feel very unhappy indeed if I was slighted during a meet and greet.

My dear Viv, please do enter the Stevie forum and stir that witches brew whenever you feel the need. Sometimes it takes comments by the Lindsey fans to generate debates and discussions. elle knows what I'm talking about.

Thank you for clarifying. You are correct...I would def. jump at the chance for a m&g with Stevie at the price Lindsey's people are asking. I think that would break the internet.

I don't think most of Stevie's fans would begrudge Lindsey fans this opportunity and vice versa. I just find it disheartening to see the Stevie fans vs. Lindsey fans thing because, well, conflict freaks me out, but mostly because it makes me a sad panda.

I think we can all agree that having the opportunity to meet and greet Lindsey is fantastic. Maybe he's not always going to invite you to sit down for a cup of tea so you can ask him every question you've ever wanted to ask him, but I have serious doubts that he's been downright rude or nasty to anyone. Aloof or distracted or awkward I can believe but he's not our hooker, people. He's a human being.

I'd sell my whole family for a 2 minute meeting with Lindsey!

Nobody used the wrong word in this case. It is perfectly acceptable to use the word "lucky" to refer to happy circumstances in an emotional context, even if the circumstances are not literally the result of chance. Ironically, that's how you use "lucky" yourself when saying that the artist is lucky we care. His talent and hard work caused us to care, not random chance.

To the main point, I believe it's a two way street between fan and artists. We're all lucky, in a sense.

Ryan, I'm glad you enjoyed the concert so much. I think your praise of Lindsey's skills might have gotten overlooked in all the furor because people so often focus on the negative.

And for those who are blaming negativity on Stevie fans - huh? There are hardly swarms of them descending upon the thread demanding LB never do another meet'n'greet.

Ok, you're right- I'm the one who feels Lindsey is a lucky guy to have such wonderful fans.

Well, would you look here! Wonders never cease! Hope you're right about appreciation. It's surely deserved.

Ha! Ouch! And I was trying not to go off rabbit chasing.

I'm standing corrected...

I would change my position to agree more with this, depending on the context of events. For example, if I get to see a Buckingham Nicks reunion of some kind, I will consider myself lucky, for sure.

no..... really? thank you for adding some rationality.

b/c from reading this thread, i would have to conclude that $100 and $2000 is completely the same. (while apparently there is a huuuuuuuge difference $60 and $100)

i really don't understand why we need to argue over and over about the semantics of how people express their feelings. (maybe someone on the list is a linguist and that's their professional bias?)

everybody has a right to express how they feel, that's a given. but somehow it seems that people who are asking for facts, and based partly on their own experience, are choosing to interpret stuff in a positive way until proven otherwise, are being labelled as having blinders - while people who choose to interpret everything in a more negative fashion, based on snowballing speculations and no real facts are labelled realists. what's the world coming to?

yes, we want to know the truth - not speculations. i've asked for facts several times in the course of last night and didn't get any backing for all the negative speculations being thrown around - i just got more speculations.

disclaimer: i haven't read the rest of the thread yet, so who knows, maybe somebody actually did throw in some facts. if so, i will have to correct some of the above.

I Just read this post in Spartanburg thread:

"...i had a meet and greet after the show...his hands and fingers have blood blisters on every finger on his right hand! he was showing us because we had requested rock away blind and he said thats why he didnt play it..."

How rude of him

Not only won't he play requests, but now he's bleeding all over his fans at meet and greets. Sheesh

He's lucky enough to have fans paying to see him live and at meet & greets, the least he can do is fight through the pain and blood and play RAB!

exactly! and how dare he take a month long hawaiian vacation in the middle of the tour - he should've known better - guitar calluses can go away if you don't maintain them.

what next? no wonder the man has a reputation!
