it does matter. i've never heard that (did he do any other m&gs besides this tour?), so would love to learn.

please do tell!

Nancy, you're a sweetheart. You'd never say it was his fault. I know you were embarassed about your own behavior. I get it.

His less than tactful words to you are still an embarrassment on his part, as far as I'm concernd. Since I'm being accused of having a chip and being negative all the time, maybe my motives wouldn't be questioned if I were the board owner?

Yes, she did

And no, owning or not owning the board has nothing to do with my response to you. Michelle doen't chime in only when there's something negative to say. That's the difference.
Ho-k?

Again, you're not being truthful here. I don't only respond when there's something negative to say. Maybe you think so because you only read the LB board? I've posted many good things on this board. I'm sorry you only noticed the handful of posts negative on LB, and you never noticed good things I posted about Seeds We Sow, or about LB's honorable appearance at Stevie's Wiltern show? Maybe that says more about you than me?

Even if we never agree on anything I'll never tell you not to post whatever you want to say. Express yourself.

^^ Michele's quoted post was in response to a Twist Of Fate question. he gave very similar response when i asked him about Everyone. it may be because he didn't want to give out the specific info, or possibly in Nancy's case, he may have not been able to hear well.

if you read that thread, you would know that in that particular situation, i was being accused on these boards of behaving like the spanish inquisition towards LB.

either way, for a while i used to have a feeling that he has trouble understanding my accent when he wouldn't get something i was saying, but there were other times when he would obviously understand everything... whether that's b/c of hearing problems or not i'm not sure.

EDIT: and i see now that Michele has just posted the same thing i did here.

That response had nothing to do with me thinking that Lindsey was rude or a jerk at meet and greets, because nothing posted here has given me that impression at all.

I was responding to Lindsey being coy and evasive sometimes when you ask him questions about his songs. Perhaps, he didn't understand the question, but if he did I perceive it as being mysterious about something that only merits intrigue in his head.

I know you don't want to hear this but others can back me up. I'm not the only one who's experienced this. LB pretends he doesn't know what you're saying when he knows EXACTLY what you're saying. He doesn't want to let on, for whatever reason. Don't ask me why. It sounds weird, but he dose this when people ask him things he doesn't want to discuss, or he will pretend he doesn't see you, or recognize you, if he doesn't want to acknowledge you when he's uncomfortable about something. I'm not saying it as a dig, just a strange observation.

Ok, then that was a misundertanding on my part. I thought you were saying his words weren't tactful, but I accept the other meaning if you say so.

so it's not my accent?

don't you do that sometimes? like i said, i pressed him on what he [pretended he] misunderstood. he still didn't want to give me an answer. that's his prerogative. he doesn't owe us every answer we want. i politely evade some questions i don't want to answer too sometimes. i don't think i should be crucified for that. like you said - not a dig, just an observation.

Well, it's your accent that makes you think the Deep Dense vocals are just fine.

At least with TOF he didn't pretend he didn't understand. He just said he wasn't prepared to answer. Ironically, I think maybe he didn't understand it and just didn't want to admit it. That reminds me of Seinfeld. Jerry ended up wearing the pirate shirt because he didn't understand the woman who asked him to model it. She was a "lowtalker" and he didn't want to ask her to repeat herself again.

but the 2 quotes above are really completely unjustified. good money? charging to a boot? $100? (or $125) ? i'm sorry guys, people his caliber would charge an arm an a leg for just the cheese-smile pic, and he doesn't. at his M&G, he gives you personal time too and not just have the staff rush you through a pic and an autograph.

yes, some people may feel better about these then others. i went to 3 of these and each experience was different. i told Nancy how i felt after the first one, and it turned out i was completely wrong! but - he was EXTREMELY nice at all 3 of them, whether rushed or not.

so PLEASE stop posting crap like he should stop doing these b/c you don't like them... he didn't charge you $800 for them, so you lost nothing if you went and didn't get what you felt you deserve (and yes Ryan does deserve a bit more, but obviously, LB doesn't know it and you can't really blame him for it). if you didn't like it, well don't do it again. others will jump at the chance!

in my experience you get to really tell him 1 thing in the time you have allotted - so choose before the M&G what you REALLY want to say to him, b/c there's a good chance you won't have a chance to "hang out" at the M&G - that's not how it's structured, and i assume most M&Gs aren't, even for much more money.
Yes, come on, these VIP tickets don't exactly cost the earth - and it's quality that counts not quantity. We might not get a lot of personal Lindsey time, but the time we get is amazing! In my experience he is kind and gracious, is willing to sign however many items you request of him, and appears to enjoy the occasion.

I will say though that these M&G's can feel a little awkward, especially when you know that sometimes a ton of people can hear you - maybe Lindsey sometimes feels this awkwardness too and not just his fans!

The impromptu, surprise meetings with him are always going to be the best but you have to be extremely lucky to have these!

So of course we want him to keep on holding these M&G's to give as many people as possible the opportunity to have a little personal interaction with him.

And I wish that people who have negative things to say about him all the time would stay away from his forum!

Oh, wow! I did not intend on creating an avalanche of negative comments. Look what I have started!

Overall, it was a great show & I am glad I finally gave him a cd. It was just unorganized and rushed to the point where I felt it was not a VIP experience. Some may feel differently and that is okay. To some, $125 isn't much, but when you buy two tickets, fuel, pay for food/lodging, then it might as well be $800!

All I meant by my "rant" is that there should have been a little more enthusiam or acknowledgement of fans. He was very nice, but in a hurry. There were 20 people. If he took one minute with each person, he would only be providing 20 minutes of his precious time. Therefore, it appears he could at least offer a whopping 3 minutes!

I did look him in the eye, as I do to everyone I speak to, out of respect. It was uncomfortable, that's all. I am not suggesting to everyone who is thinking about a meet & greet to not attend. If you can afford it, go for it!

I remember reading Cory's SYW tour diary and she made it seem LB had no hearing issues. It surprised me because I thought they would all have hearing issues at this point.

To be fair, I'm sure LB knows who Nancy is.

And, by the way, I appreciate your input. I think you're just being honest about your experiences and experiences you know others have had, if those were negative LB moments, then they were...

It doesn't change my fandom and I don't think Lindsey needs defending for those moments either. I have witnessed a lot of artists be real divas and that was my experience. I will never forget it because that was my only encounter with them so far. It doesn't mean I think they act that way all the time, but too bad for them when I tell my stories to others, that's what they're going to hear.

I don't know if that's true, but for some reason it would not surprise me.

Maybe to you. You cannot possibly judge someone else's personal financial status just because you think it's "worth it". It's a lot, especially when you figure in travel and hotel. I know a lot of artists who have actual working FAN CLUBS where you pay a yearly fee and have the opportunity for meet & greets a few times per year. That makes more sense than price gouging the concert ticket.

Why? Don't you want to know the truth? I don't think it's fair to want only positive comments posted. It's a discussion board and people should be free to discuss their experiences and thoughts regardless.

I still stand by how reasonable the VIP tix are for Lindsey - you can pay much much more than this for just a regular ticket for other artists.

Yes, people should be free to comment how they think fit - but maybe without the b*tchiness and bile that some members seem to bring to Lindsey's board.

For instance, as most of you know, I am not a fan of Stevie - so I stay out of her forum, and if I had a negative thought about her I would not dream of going over there and upsetting her fans. I know what a lynching I would get.

Lindsey is not perfect and gets it wrong sometimes - but he doesn't deserve the bashing he gets here, far too often!
