Maybe this has been discussed before, but I'll bring it up anyway: why is there an edited version of the already short song 'Never going back again'? On the "25 Years: The Chain 4CD", it's only 2:02 whereas on the Rumours CD (both original and remastered), the vinyl abum, and on "The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac" it's 2:13.
On the edited version, the acoustic guitar part from 1:06 to 1:17 is removed. It's not an 'alternate version' of 'alternate mix' (I thoroughly checked using my ear phone) but just a shorter version... GJK |

It doesn't make sense. I like the boxset since there are some songs you can listen in a different version. Gypsy is longer, Isn't it Midnight has a different mix, as Tusk does. But just cutting a song doesn't make sense, and I don't think it was because it doesn't fit in a CD.

Hi GJK,
I remember we had a similar discussion back in the mid 90's (when the Ledge was just basically 1 board) on this topic, wow time flies ![]() Anyway if I remember correctly the guitar solo on the longer versions is simply a splice and repeat. So nothing we haven’t heard previously in the song was removed. I remember being able to hear the point of the splice but it has been awhile and my Box Set is in storage so I can't confirm for 100% but I think that was it. Anyway, regardless it is a very odd thing to edit it that way. Take Care |

Hi Again,
Here is a theory as to why the guitar solos are different, if you listen to the DVD-Audio mix of Never Going Back Again, over the acoustic guitar solo there is an electric solo that occurs about half way through. Again remember that this is just a theory but what if they used the acoustic solo as a base for the electric solo, and extended/repeated it to allow for the electric to finish, however since the electric solo didn’t make the final LP mix they may have just kept the acoustic the way it was. Then they went back to gather tracks for the Chain used an updated version that didn’t include the repeat as it was not necessary? Just a thought. ![]() Take care |

I am still puzzled as to why Tusk never got the DVD-A treatment. It's such a crazy sounding record, I can imagine it probably sounded even more intense in a 5.1 mix

I seem to remember there was talk of a release back in the day but in the end all we got was Rumours and Say You Will in 5.1
I completely agree. I would love to hear Tusk in 5.1. Tusk is one of my top five all-time favorite albums, a 5.1 mix would be quite the revelation I think.
