I agree The Dance should have been the last of the nostalgia. I LOVED the Say You Will tour. And seeing Lindsey touring with his last three albums has been such a wonderful experience. Seeing Stevie tour with IYD was fabulous; she was so energized. They are both at such good places creatively it would be a huge bummer to see them going through the motions as they did with Unleashed. I will go because I love Fleetwood Mac dearly and cannot imagine NOT seeing them. I will be excited to see them even though I found the Unleashed Tour to be a bit boring and I basically felt like a junkie getting a very expensive fix. I am just disappointed that there will be no new album if and when this tour happens. It's hard being a "hardcore" fan and being at these massive and expensive shows with people who just want to hear the hits and get drunk. But I know when all is said and done and I hear the crickets, I'll forget about my kvetching and just have some fun. ![]() Susan |

I think there is an inherent dissonance when it comes to trying to intellectualize a Fleetwood Mac greatest hits tour. On the one hand, woo hoo, I get to see my favorite band again. On the other hand, why are they wasting precious time not doing something creative? I also think there is a difference between seeing it on paper and experiencing the reality of it all. Yes, it sucks majorly on paper. But say what you will about a bunch of old fogeys in their 60s croaking out their greatest hits... it's still a fantastic experience. And on some nights it's downright transcendent. For myself personally, I enjoy the payoff of investing myself emotionally with a band that keeps on plugging away at it. I never imagined at 12 years old, wearing out the grooves to my Mirage LP, that I would be able to see Fleetwood Mac (albeit a redacted iteration of Fleetwood Mac) in my middle age. I had always assumed that they would break up or be long retired by now. It is gratifying to see them today... not unlike observing distant relatives. It's enough for me to know that they are okay and that they are still the same artists that I grew to love back in the day. Yes, a new FM album would be wonderful, but if the fates decide it's not in the cards next year, it will happen some other time. I am fairly confident of that.

Yes, to be in the room with all of that energy. To turn around and see a sea of people singing along with them, it's amazing. They may do the same show every night, but when you're seeing multiple shows you can get a thrill out of the slightest variation and there's a sense that you're participating in the parts that don't change. It's not something that even the greatest Youtube video/audio can capture.

Mick had nothing to do with it. Those plans were already made. Originally, they were going to go out in 2012, but it was delayed for business reasons that has more to do with industry stuff & the promotional/marketing they will be able to capitalize on in 2013, rather than any sensationalized personal in-band drama one interview generated.

That's prolific *writer*, not prolific album recorder.

I'm sure everyone here knows my feelings on this- yet another Mac hits tour is pretty much my worst fear. To me, it seems like the Mac is simply setting themselves up to be an oldies touring act. I was able to stomach the notion of the Unleashed tour because it was promised that the tour was simply to warm up the band for a new studio album. Obviously that never happened. And since there have been zero comments since about another studio album, I think the writing is on the wall at this point. Who knows, maybe the Mac is secretly in the studio right now, or will go into the studio next year following the tour. But it's beginning to look like odds are greatly stacked against that. And to me, that's really unfortunate. Lindsey and Stevie are making the best solo albums of their careers right now. They still have the potential to make really fantastic music together.

I'm not going and its a big waste of time. If the tour fails, which it just might, Stevie will wish she didn't listen to that money-grubbing whore Mick. THEY ARE OUT OF TIME. This is a money grab and then a couple of heart of attacks and no more music.

Ouch. Can Mick collect SS checks. He's 64 now.His Bday is next week .What kills me .Why does the entertainment people get in a marriage .Most of them turn sour in a couple years and get dirty at the end.Ok I rather see Stevie with FM then this Rod combo again .If this Stevie up coming tour was planned with Rod at all shows.I probably stay local and hell with Boston,AC,NYC and Holmdel.I would of just go to Mohegan Sun and that will be it.I won't be in the mood to sit through 2 hours of Rod and worrying about getting slammed in the head with a soccer ball .Again I do like Rod.But my focus is on Stevie performing only.

It won't. Fleetwood Mac with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham will be a success.
