IYD Documentary

Then I thought that repackaging IYD with a few new songs and the documentary and Stevie heading back out on summer tour and do the morning and late night talk shows - eventually maybe she would sell an additional 25,000 to 50,000 units...but does that make it worth it for all the parties concerned?

This is probably exactly what has occurred. They handed the finished doc over to WBR back in February, I'm betting that Warners passed on releasing & promoting it because of diminishing returns due to IYD not being more of a commercial success. Leaving Dave, Weapons of Mass Entertainment & Stevie looking for distributors or perhaps even a cable outlet that is interested in picking it up to air like the Elton John/Leon Russell documentary "The Union" which aired on HBO last winter. However, the latter was filmed & chronicled by the great Cameron Crowe who has become quite the music documentary king in recent years, while the former was directed & filmed by Dave Stewart & WOME

One thing for sure is the Doc is already beyond anti-climatic at this point , so if it does not come out in some form around the time Stevie is on tour this summer, it will be yet another debacle of missed opportunity & bad timing. However, I'm pretty sure Dave, WOME & Stevie management are scrambling & doing everything they can to get this out with some distributer to recoup some of the costs of filming and editing.
