Madonna has been the subject of a Clear Channel radio blackout since the American Life single was released. Apparently, she was un-American for making fun of the materialistic lifestyle we celebrate here.

That blackout has pretty much never lifted.

I was just watching the local tv show at 3pm on WFSB with Scot Haney.They were saying that Madonna's new CD is not selling good.Has anybody here heard the same thing about this.

It debuted at number one selling 740,000 copies worldwide (359,000 in the US) , but sales quickly dropped off.

It's doing better than her last album, so...that's good?

Girl Gone Wild ended up going to No. 1 this week on the Dance Charts... She beat her own record!. Second week sales were about 46k vs 359k the prior week... Huge drop off, but the album is still in the top 10 in the US. It's a good album, and without a top 100 single getting played everywhere, and with virtually no promotion done on the album, I think it's done alright...

Wow.Not bad for a debut.Her sales probably pickup when she's touring.

I gave this album a second chance and to be honest I must say that it's not as bad as I thought in the beginning. Of course, it's not her strongest album but definately not a total failure. "Gang Bang" is my favourite song and even though some people complain about its lyrical content still I think it gives the song the edge and makes it more enjoyable. "I'm Addicted" is another highlight. I still don't like "Superstar", "I'm a Sinner", "Some Girls" and "I Don't Give A..." but on the other hand I convinced myself to appreciate "Love Spent" and poppy "Turn Up The Radio". All in all, it's not a bad album but it needs more time
