She probably never wears it like that because I bet it takes a looooong time, it looks like she probably just blow-dries her hair.

There's an interview floating around where Stevie explains it was her idea to contact "Up All Night" and see if they wanted her after they mentioned her in the pilot episode. She also says it was probably the only performance she has ever done where she WASN'T nervous just because she was having so much fun.

That was pretty cool, thanks for the link!

I LOOOOVVEED the outfit Christina wore! To me, one of those Stevie stage worn outfits would be ULTIMATE! Loved the era and style. If I'd had more $$$ I woulda had one similar, but ended up with a more affordable lace Tango blouse.

Is the big bun on top a trendy new style or something? My granddaughter had her hair like that one day last week. Unfortunately, I never seem to be up on the styles. I like it, long as it doesn't get crazy like Winehouse (RIP) style -that was a bit much.

I loved this show. I loved hearing Sleeping Angel, which by the way sounded great on the tube and watching those two rock out.
Right, we never would have guessed Sleeping Angel. And even though Whenever I Call You Friend is a crummy song, I never thought that I'd hear Stevie singing a snippet of it on a sitcom, so even that was a thrill. Much better than if Ava and Stevie had been singing Landslide together as they walked away.

Well no, because the show has one of those things where it looks like it has ended. The storyline is resolved and you see the production logo come on and you think "that's all folks," when really it's not.

I didn't mean the song on the tv show. I mean the song as a single. I'll tell you that it sounds like two different songs mashed together. They seem almost incongruent. One is poppy and one part has anthem like qualities. I do NOT like the anthem "whenever I call you friend" part.

However, the chorus is a little infectious for me: Sweet love's showin' us a heavenly light. Never seen such a beautiful sight. See love glowin' on us every night, I know forever we'll be doin' it right.

I think that's corny, but I do like it. I got such pleasure from Stevie on Magnet & Steel, Gold and Whenever I Call You Friend, when they used to come on the radio.

It's very sad, but I don't hear Lindsey on Gold. My poor guy. I have no idea what his voice sounds like, I suppose.

That's cool. I'm really glad to hear that. I kept thinking about her trying to do that MTV thing where she kept going "I'm NOT an actress". LOL. I'm so happy this was a good experience for her.

I don't hear him vocally, but that guitar solo is so signature Linds. It's my favorite part of the song.

Y ou think the part where it goes like "now i know my life has given me more than memories" has an anthem quality? Well, i get it. But that's what i like about the song, though i know it is definitely corny. "Uplifting", indeed . I do have a problem with Kenny Loggins' voice in general (sounds so cheesy 70's to me, especially on this song), but that's about it.

As for "Gold", isn't he singing the high part at the end of the song? I was also wondering about it the other day...

I have to say that Stevie's collaborations with other artists in the late 70's were all pretty impressive, the best, to me, being "Midnight Wind".

YES! My favorite part also along with Stevie's "oooh yeaah" before the ending coda, and her harmonizing on "california girls are the greatest in the world"

Actually, I think that's John Stewart playing that lead guitar lick. He's playing deliberately in the Buckingham style, even using the Turner Model 1.
