Default Ideas for a new compilation album

Not that we really need another compilation from Stevie (0r Fleetwood Mac), but they do seem to appear during long stretches of times between albums. Since it may be a long time before we get another solo album or Fleetwood Mac album, what could possibly be re- released and rehashed, but in a unique, creative context?

I thought of STEVIE GOES TO THE MOVIES

It would feature all her songs that appear on movie soundtracks. Granted, most of them are on the Enchanted box set, but that was a limited release for hard-core fans. Those songs, otherwise, are mostly obscure and unavailable to the general public (and light-weight fans!). Highlighting them in a smaller context makes for a really nice album.

1. BLUE LAMP
2. SLEEPING ANGEL
3. FREE FALLING
4. TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL
5. BATTLE OF THE DRAGON
6. VIOLET AND BLUE
7. TWISTED
8. IF YOU EVER DID BELIEVE
9. CRYSTAL
10. SOMEBODY STAND BY ME
11. EDGE OF SEVENTEEN

I think The Dance version of "Landslide" was in that Michelle Pfeiffer film based on Jessica Savitch. At least it was in the trailer.
Whoops, what was I thinking? Stevie hates performing/promoting "Landslide" these days. Well, maybe she can dig it out from the vault.

Do we really need another compilation? I mean there are three already. What's the point? But...if her record label wanted to give us another compilation, then I would suggest to make it live compilation, something like "Greatest Hits and Then Some... Live", comprising performances of various hits and non-hits from different eras, coupled with extra DVD with these performances.

Select ballads reworked with an orchestra.

Must have been a different version of "Landslide". "Up Close and Personal" was released in 1996, the year before The Dance was recorded and released.

My wish would be a compilation of all the beautiful songs that Stevie has inexplicably pushed aside over the years. This would quite possibly be the best work of her career.

The Dealer
Julia
All the Beautiful Worlds
Lady from the Mountain (before Moonlight)
Mirror Mirror (1992)
If You Were My Love
Smile at You (any of the wonderful non SYW versions)
Joan of Arc
Forest of the Black Roses
Farewell Failure (there has to be a recorded version of this killer tune somewhere)
Without You

Feel free to add to the list....

Personally, I'd vote for the unreleased songs. A two disc set. One with the demos. One with new production. Have to add Sanctuary.

I must say I like the soundtrack compilation. I also agree to get rid of Somebody Stand by Me. The reason this could be good is that, if marketed right, could let people know she did so many great soundtrack songs. I bet people don't know this.

I agree 100 percent on her demos.Hell with the covers.Which most of them I never liked by the original artist. She should clean house by releasing all those demos on cd.A good copy of the Wild heart dressing room video. I like her to put on a dvd collection like the civilwar Stand Back got on the CV DVD.

In the meantime we are still waiting for the IYD DVD to get release.

That is a great idea. However, I'd like to see a comprehensive release including a mixture of live songs, demos, and more polished studio outtakes. I would include:

Sleeping Angel
Angel (live 1983 with her touring band, or a clear 1979 live version))
Nightbird (live 1983)
Violet and Blue
One More Tomorrow
Sanctuary
If You Ever Did Believe (the old demo, remastered)
Landslide (early demo)
All the King's Horses
Starshine Silver
Sara (cleaning lady, of course)
Planets of the Universe (old piano demo)
Goodby Baby (1976 piano demo)
Imperial Hotel (outtake)
You Won't Forget Me
Rose Garden (demo)
The Dealer
Watch Devil
Gold and Braid (live 1981)
Blue Lamp
Fire Burning (has this ever been performed live??)

Songs I'd like to be on for a new compilation album

Sable On Blonde
If I Were You( why this song was never on Enchanted or The Best of or never released as a single is beyond me)
Hurry Boy with Tom Snow
Midnight Wind with John Stewart
Insider, Needles and Pins & You Can Always Change Your Mind with Tom Petty& The Heartbreakers
Get My Way & I Pretend with Sandy Stewart
Smilling Islands with Robbie Patton
Blue Water

Those are all great songs, btw her vocal on Midnight Wind in particular is just amazing, and Smiling Islands is very pretty pre Rock a Little innocence.
