I was thinking earlier about the IYD DVD.I wonder now how she will make a tie-in with this upcoming tour to promote the DVD.

Legendary rockers Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks have announced plans to reunite this summer and reprise their highly acclaimed, co-headlining “Heart & Soul Tour.”

In a career spanning five decades, Rod Stewart has amassed an estimated 250 million in album and single sales and an incredible 16 Grammy nominations. In April he will join the elite list of artists who are 2x Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees (as a solo artist and soon as a member of the seminal 60s rock band, the Faces). On March 24, he will return to Las Vegas for an 8-concert-run of "The Hits" - part of his immensely popular first residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Stevie Nicks is a multi-Grammy Award Winner as a solo artist and member of the legendary Fleetwood Mac and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Her new CD "In Your Dreams" debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and has received glowing reviews from numerous outlets, including US Magazine who declared it "the best album of Nicks' four decade career."
YESSS! I'll be there!!!

My first choice for a touring companion for her is still Chris Isaak. They're great onstage together.
With Rod she just seems stiff onstage to me. Granted, she's also stiff with Lindsey, but at least that stiffness has a back-story.

Yeah, I agree about Tom. I wish those two would tour together, but I don't see him touring with her without his band. And if she guested with Tom and The Heartbreakers again, I would want to see more Stevie front and center. Singing back up with Tom's band is not enough for me.

Ah, man. I was really hoping they'd go somewhere far away from me so I wouldn't feel conflicted about not going.

I am not a big Rod Stewart fan and don't want to spend the big bucks on this tour...but Stevie...she was so amazing on last year's tour...hopefully she'll get to have some fun on this tour, make some mad cash, and get back in the studio. But...it'll be hard to pass up seeing Stevie close to home...

I'm reminded of The Exorcist, when Father Karras is haunted by his mother's voice...except it's "Stevie, why you do this to me?"

I can understand your feelings about this tour.Another managment mistake like the last move.She got bills to pay like us .She got to pay off the loss of IYD due to crappy sales plus the DVD fees.

I don't know anything about Stevie's finances, but wouldn't IYD touring have been at least modestly profitable? I guess if she's going to continue be the Queen of Rock for the next 30 years, she needs to make bank!

Wouldn't it be interesting to be a fly on the wall in Stevie s accountants office and see exactly the in and outs of money losses or profits for the last 28 months- the production time, the touring, heart and soul, promoting, etc. I wonder if the entire IYD experience was profitable

Because I don't know the in and outs of record production - I wonder if Stevie fronts all of the production costs then WB pays all the costs of manufacturing of the actual product? Is Dave Stewart and musicians paid from Stevie's purse or WB pocketbook. The concerts must be profitable both heart and soul and the solo tour(including Australia)

There is no doubt in my mind the In Your Dreams "experience" was indeed profitable. You certainly didn't see Stevie running back to Fleetwood Mac for 2012 projects & bankable concert guarantees.

Pollstar published last year that the 18 show Heart & Soul trek grossed between 21-22 million! Even if Stevie just got a third of that gross, she potentially pocketed @7 million in under 2 months of dates.

With Stevie's solo IYD tour she is paid a guarantee per show. I believe her guarantee is @400K give or take a few, at 24 US dates thats a gross of @9.6 million. Plus she had her the successful Australian leg, so throw in another 2 million in potential concert proceeds.

In Your Dreams has probably sold upwards of @200K in the US by now, Stevie probably lost money on the recording. Most Artists get's @1.oo per copy sold, and she probably paid for the production of IYD, which cost her I'm guessing 1 million or so. But Stevie also get's songwriting royalties/percentage for sales. Meanwhile her catalog royalties, both solo & FM & were undoubtably higher last year with her high profile on TV shows like Glee, America's Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars... etc etc.

So I'd wager Stevie made @18-19 million in 2011!
@17 million in concert revenues
@1-2 million: songwriting royalties/IYD sales/catalog sales

So Christopher. I guess you're saying that Stevie may need government cheese this year?? Seriously. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm sure the money is a huge plus but when I first heard of her touring with Rod again my first thought was how it was a way for her to ease into things again after dealing with the loss of her mother. This way she gets to tour but she'll have someone there with her who can carry some of the flak she usually would have to deal with by herself on a solo tour.... and I'm sure Rod is a good time, too. He seems like a hoot to me. While I'm very disappointed that the tickets are going to be super expensive and I'll have to deal with a short Stevie set list, I AM happy that I get to see Rod Stewart in concert at least once in my life seeing as I missed the first leg of the Heart and Soul tour. (but don't get me wrong, I would much rather have an hour more of Stevie Nicks time than a whole set of Rod Stewart)

Just please announce a solo tour soon Stevie!!!!!!!! I NEED to be able to afford some amazing tickets and hear at LEAST 15 songs on your set list!!!!!!!!!!
