I think the references to other songs in The Nightmare was more intentional than in her other songs. I think she was specifically singing about her experiences in Fleetwood Mac and wanted to drive the point home, hence the 'I stood with you against the storm", "about the moon and her sisters" and "drowning in the sea, baby drowning". The same goes for that version of Mirror Mirror where she practically screams "you walk a thin line, walk a think line".

Great observation on The Nightmare (which I love).

Stevie once said that people told her that she is "stealing from herself when she borrows lyrics from other songs of hers."

Sting does the same thing all the time and it's very deliberate.

Hell, I'm a songwriter myself, think I'll start as well.

Can you name a Stevie Nicks song where the title of the song is not a song lyric?

^ I don't think she had one of those in her whole career until In Your Dreams came out with TWO (Moonlight and Wide Sargasso Sea)

Who said it?

" I may never marry, I may be MotherGoose.....

"I think you broke a string that time"

"I haven't called my mother since Christmas"

The first quote was said to Jim Ladd by Stevie in December, 1979. I don't know about the 2nd quote but the 3rd quote came out of the mouth of Lindsey while eating a bag of potato chips in the Making of Tusk docu.

Very good!
The 2nd quote is Christine Mcvie from the Fleetwood Mac Live 1080 album, inbetween the songs Don't Stop & I'm So Afraid.

Yes, I know my Fleetwood Mac inside and out. It's true they are considered a dinosaur band especially when you listen to their live albums from 1080, 1980 & 2005.
