I thought it was a 5 record deal.

If that's the case, Stevie owes the label one more release
1. TISL
2. Crystal Visons
3. Soundstage - Live In Chicago
4. In Your Dreams
5. ??????
Let's hope it's a record of new material & not another compilation or standards release.

Even if Stevie is under a 5 album deal (which I believe is incorrect), her contract will definitely be fulfilled with the release of her upcoming documentary. To the best of my knowledge, Stevie & FM are both free agents (or very soon will be).

Actually, the "Enchanted" box set, as well as her buying out her remaining obligations completed her Modern records contract. Which enabled her to sign a new contract with Reprise in 1996. But no one can recall definitively how many records she signed on for with Reprise?. 7 seems like an awful lot, esp. for Stevie's snail pace I would be surprised. Do you recall you source material.

Oh okay, didn't know the deal with Modern.

I remember hearing her talking to a fan on the phone or something, and that is why I want to say 7.

So let me get this right.Stevies Enchanted collection was to wrapup the Modern deal. Then She scratched on the dotted line contract for 7 cd's with Reprise which is a part of WB.
Ok IYD is the 5 recording now she's got to produce 2 more cd.Ok I see the picture.I did know about the Modern deal but I did not know of I forgot how many cds are in the Reprise package.Ok I got 4 Ideas for wrapping up the current deal.Ok

1 Record a tribute cd for Mom
2 Record a Country CD and it would be a trubute to her grandfather.
3 Christmas Collection Stevie style including Silent Night and Chris Isaak's xmas tune.
4 contract buyout or by this time she will be at the edge of 70.

Default Lone Justice

This is alittle off topic but this band called Lone Justice from the 1980's has connections with Jimmy Iovine and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. With Benmont Tench . and former drummer in Emmylou Harris's Hot Band Don Heffington.and lead singer Maria_McKee which she sounds great. They sound great .sort of country/punk/rock flavored music.I wish they did better back then.Today They will be a hit.

i remember Lone Justice and Maria McKee. they did have at least one huge hit in the 80s. at least in europe they did.

EDIT: ha, reading wikipedia article on Maria McKee i remember more now why i remember her being so huge: "she wrote Feargal Sharkey's 1985 UK number one hit "A Good Heart"". and then there's this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Show_Me_Heaven

Wait 5? 7? It seems like just a year ago everyone was talking about how her contract with Reprise stated she had to do 3 more albums, one being a greatest hits package and that is why she released Crystal Visions and Soundstage so close to each other and that she actually had no contract going into IYD???

What I dont understand is other artists have 4 dozen if not more albums.she got a handful of albums. She's got tons of demos as we know scattered everywhere.Other artist slap together a album in weeks to months and release 3 to 4 a year. They probably are not worried about profection of the tunes. Then they become number one hits.Hum .I dont know.

^ Per Stevie's own admission, she hates being in the studio, it's the most boring part for her. I think that might have something to do with why she has, in comparison to others, put out so few albums. Not to mention that again Stevie's demos are generally very rough and a whole song has to basically be crafted around them.

Maybe with Dave making the process so much more enjoyable for her, she'll go into her next project sooner.
