I'll only watch the Grammy's if Stevie is going to be there.

I don't like Bon Iver. For one thing, they aren't a "New" artist, they've put out two albums. And Justin Vernon rubbed me the wrong way with his acceptance speech.

I honestly thought Adele killed it. I know people are divided on her and her album, but I think it was great and very relatable. Hopefully I'll get to catch her on tour later this year if she goes on one.

Adele's performance was flawless and full of emotion. She SLAYED.

I love Bruce passionately, but that song did nothing for me.

Bon Iver isn't for everyone, but his song Holocene is so tranquil and lovely that it takes me awwwwaaayyy and I can't hate on it.

The show was ok.Great country performances.Taylor.The Glen Campbell tribute was great and including him at 75.The Boss was ok.Adele was great .Even if it was lipped. Some of the others got muted because they stink.I'm glad anyway to see the grammys still have some respect for the elder artists.I never heard of Bon Iver until the show.Their sound reminds me of the airy sound of Enya. They do sound ok and easy to the ears.

it's highly contrived. i like SetFire to the Rain, but EVERY live version i've seen sounds the same! no personality to her live singing, just sing it like she did in the studio!

i find the Grammys repunant! as Stevie got no nominations this year, Whitney got NONE in her comeback year of 2009! Yet those showbiz WHORES packed the show with superficial tributes to her! why get JH to sing her song??? why not play WHITNEY's performance of the song!??

I agree. She has a nice voice, but its nothing special. I just think that this generation is STARVED for a star. Almost anything will do.

I didn't have the chance to follow the grammys from France, but i can't even begin to explain how happy i am for Justin Vernon and his band. I was so sure that Nicki Minaj was going to win, but apparently, America still has the sense for good music. He deserves it so so so much, and i'm just so happy that people on the ledge like his music. And his speech was so heartfelt and funny, and that's exactly the way i like him. GO BON IVER !!

This takes me back to my own childhood. Thanks for the laugh.

I don't like Bon Iver either - talk about snooze-worthy, boring music? This is it. They should not have been eligible for New Artist. However, I disagree regarding his acceptance speech. The Grammy's are truly a total joke among anyone who doesn't listen to Top 40 radio. They pour exessive adulation upon one artist every year, give some obligatory nod to another (all based on sales, not actual talent or the merit of their work) and totally ignore dozens, no - hundreds and hundreds of other artists who are actually making the music that people listen to and talk about in their day to day lives. In that sense, I thought Justin's acceptance speech was appropriate - "Thanks, I guess but so many others truly deserve this." That's what I got out of it.

It's fashionable now to not like Adele. She's successful, after all.

Don't be so angry. It just makes you age faster.

This is exactly what I was thinking about... Chris "Beat Her Down" Brown. For one thing, I was just floored that his sh*t album won a Grammy, let alone received a nomination. Secondly, this guy is a disgusting blight on society and doesn't deserve to be breathing, let alone win a Grammy for that sh*tty autotuned garbage. He beat the living crap out of his girlfriend. Let me repeat that: He beat the living crap out of his girlfriend. How is this monster getting applause and fanfare so soon after that incident? And exactly what has he done to redeem himself in the intervening years (not that it's even possible to make up for what he committed)? He is still a hothead who still has anger management issues (as evidenced by his last GMA appearance), and he still makes horrible music. I wanted to smack some sense into everyone in the Staples Center who gave a standing ovation for his lip synched, poorly rehearsed performance. What's next? Will the Grammy organization honor Mel Gibson with a humanitarian lifetime achievement award?

I pay no mind to that crap music. That reminds me.I got to put out the garbage.I never trust these award show which are voted by their peers.Plus pocket are probably geting lined with some money in the back room.I think they are fixed.I like the fan base voting award shows ,but we dont know it these show are legit either.

I live how they come up with the nominations of these unknown artists from nowhere with no radio airplay and win.

Come on. These shows are nothing to get upset over. Cause Chris brown won, Does his album become mandatory listening? No. It's just a silly show.

I quite agree Mick!

And I don't agree that because Whitney received no nomination in 2009 that she shouldn't be recognized as a beloved singer by her peers. Even if you didn't like Jennifer H,'s rendition, it was still tastefully done. I'm not a Grammys lover by any means. I find them to be chalk-filled with whatever artists fulfill the industry big-shot tab much of the time. And sometimes they are really crap.

But you can still enjoy parts of it.

Who cares if Stevie wasn't nominated? PJ Harvey wasn't and she had the best album of 2011 in my opinion. So what? People love SN regardless. And people love and respect PJ as well.

You only take it all with a sense of humor and understanding. Paul McCartney will ALWAYS be at these types of things, for example. Even if his song sucks. It's Paul McCartney, 1/4th of the greatest band that ever graced this world. And therefore, he is a legend and he is representing that part of the Beatles that still lives on. I don't particularly think his solo music is anything outstanding in compared to many independent artists that don't always get a fair shake, but that is the politics of the game- in the music business, Hollywood, and in real life. And I just smile, nod, and enjoy whatever I like and whatever I don't like I share with you good people.
