odd interesting FM trivia

I was researching the history of 8-track tapes, and came across this tidbit at the "end" of their history:

"There is a debate among collectors about the last commercial eight-track released by a major label, but many agree it was Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits in November 1988."

who the heck knew they were even making 8tracks that late in the game. I remember distinctly how Tango was released -- with fanfare -- on CD at the same time as it's vinyl and cassette versions... but remember never seeing an 8 track of that album.

however, on a somewhat related note, i owned the 8-tracks of the first two Stevie albums -- as well as Mirage.

I've always been confused about the lineage/timeline of records, eight-tracks, cassettes, CD's and now MP3 downloads, especially in regards to Fleetwood Mac.
