well, obviously the man's wife would disagree.... it's interesting to see the behaviors we are willing to overlook in a famous person that we wouldn't overlook if it happened to us.

Anyway, my point was, a steamy affair in some tropical hideaway or being whisked off in a private jet has a certain romantic flair, or even affairs on the road, but hearing stories about banging someone's husband at a party just because you can strikes me as a little.... disappointing. You're absolutely right, it's her life to live as she chooses, and ymmv.

Maybe she didn't know he was married? I'm not saying that Stevie had anything against sleeping with a married man knowingly- but maybe in this instance there's more to the story than the short paragraph we received? I don't like to jump to conclusions and I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. It personally doesn't bother me if she did know that he was married and just "banged at a party".... I would give my future husband a free pass if he ever had the option to jump in with Stevie Nicks.

Agree with every word of this. Would only add that the free pass would be contingent upon him promising to give a good account of himself.

I certainly hope, if my future spouse ever walked in on me banging Stevie Nicks at a party, s/he would understand I simply did what had to be done.

But to be honest -- having sex with a married man might not be the most kind or the most wise thing to do, but she didn't make a promise to love, honor, and remain faithful to that guy's wife. Stevie Nicks or not, what she did wasn't that bad, whereas what that guy did was an awful betrayal. I don't think it has anything to do with people be "willing to overlook" her bad behavior just because she's famous.

I guess one could also say "I have no reason to trust her story," as it's hearsay, and so many things are spread around and taken for truth--particularly on the internet, and it spreads worldwide. It's not particularly fair. In fact, it's pretty lousy.

I know. People spread rumors about normal human beings let alone celebrities and they do it for little or no reason. I always hear, "Jane had no reason to lie." Whoever needed a reason? If telling a good story makes one the center of attention for 2 minutes, has people in awe and envy, then a person will lie. They'll lie about the size of the fish they caught let alone about a celebrity encounter. Having Stevie sleep with your husband means your guy is desirable to a woman who has had rich and famous lovers. Indirectly, it elevates you, because you reeled in such an attractive man, albeit an unfaithful one.

Of course, I'm sure there are many husbands Stevie has slept with, but for every one of them in the bag there were probably 50 lies told about conquests she never came close to making.

Well...that's sort of debatable in Stevie's case... (except for the one)

Of course! The best looking one (to me), but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Although, I think he does hold the general consensus even to those who hate him. lol

Vivfox,

Of course I recognize that room. I was thinking about that today. I was thinking about women wearing scarves to hide the telltale marks and how amusing it is in retrospect, when the entire population of Collinsport just starts running around in scarves.

Man, I am going through something right now that is consuming me. I never saw Buffy or Angel during the first run and I just started watching the DVDs a couple of months ago and I am practically losing my mind. Obsession. Men who walk into a mist wearing long dark coats. Save me, it's gone too far.

I thought it was funny when Stevie said that the only people to play piano for the SYW album was her, John and Lindsey. I've seen her and Lindsey on piano, but I've never seen John. That would crack me up. I wish that had gotten onto the Destiny Rules video.

I really hope that the Johnny Depp movie does this story justice. Remakes involving characters that are beloved by millions always worry me for fear of feeling let down.
