i don't think the color is the problem - the lack of hair / balding pattern is. even if he wanted to, he has less and less to color these days.

I couldn't imagine him with darker hair now. It's always a hard thing for older men to pull off dark hair, anyway. A lot of old men I've seen with black hair look so unnatural. They look like they've stuck their head in a tar pit. He'd have to be careful to maintain a good level of "salt and pepper" within the colour if he ever chose to dye his hair, or something.

completely agree. but you know, i think he's been actually doing it for the last year or so. his hair (and eyebrows!) was much whiter in last year's VH1 FM BTM then during the more recent tour / appearances. or maybe that was just the lighting during filming of those VH1 interviews.

Like when John tried that during SYW, just looked odd, not younger or better...

I'd love for everyone to post their fave pics from each era.
These are some of my faves from the Tusk era.

I don't mean he should have it all dark.....just more like it was during SYW. Even just a mix, maybe 60% gray/ 40% dark would work better.

Well, he told CAH to shoot him if he ever looked like Kenny Rogers. Maybe he thinks she still will.

I'm no good with eras. But these are my favourites.

What you lack in defining eras, you make up for with excellent taste in LB photos These are all great, but, the first and, especially the last one I really like! I also have a thing for his arms, and there they are in sevearl of your photos!!

They're so intense, though, so it's good to take a break sometimes and stare at his arms ( or legs, or hands, or body part of your choosing! )
