It was about 80 two days ago and been summer-like so far this winter. A cold snap moved in tonight though and made things chilly and people have their plants and trees covered and the groves are giving the oranges a spraying of water tonight to protect them if things freeze. These cold blasts don't usually last long and it'll warm up again in a day or so and that's one of the things I like about here. Florida does get occasional cold fronts moving in, in the winter time but usually they're overnight and brief.

Oh my god. 80 degrees.I have to till my dad tomorrow. He would love to move down there. But he said its too late in the game for him.He will be 80 next spring.I did see the report about them protecting the fruit from freezing tonight on the news.My aunt lives in Winterhaven and my uncle lives around Boca Raton area.So far we up north was up to the 50's through the holidays. This time last year .I was digging out from the blizzards that we had. tonight it supposted to go to about 15 degrees which makes the first night of a deep freeze.

After tossing around the idea to family for 4 years, that's one of the reasons I went ahead and wanted to move down while I was in my 30's and still young enough to enjoy everything here. I wanted to live life for today and not 30 years from now because heck, who knows if you'll even be here at 80. Plus I would rather be 36 on a beach and not 70 So that was another reason. Growing up in SW Ohio all my life, we never really got awful blizzards or heavy snows, it was just the cold and grey of winter that lasted for months and was depressing and why I wanted a warmer climate now. I know if I ever move back home, I'll have to deal with all that again. But who knows if I'll stay in Florida forever so I enjoy every day as it comes. Moving far away was something new and just a life experience and it has been really.

In the bottom right of this pic, where the sun on the sand meets the shade right by the water, can you see the tiny little red headed man with his back to the camera as he faces the water? He looks like a tiny little mini Louie. So adorable.

You always point out things I never see lol. I don't see a little man in the pic? But there were people around me busy snapping pics too and enjoying the park.

On closer inspection I now realize it is a G2 or Gatorade plastic bottle. The type with an orange cap. It's sitting right next to the water. Can you see it now?

Oh the bottle, yeah. That was someone elses sitting there. Had Louie snuck into Florida, he could've at least told me.
