Yep one is what actually happens and the other is the label humans give it.

I understand why they are trying to breed the penguins, but I'm curious as to why there are those who won't accept that animals can have the same sort of feelings towards another that we do. Why do humans think that they have a monopoly on love? We are no different to any other animal (and yes I know penguins are birds) but we like to think we are superior.

Wow, this was seriously a story line on NBC's show Parks and Recreation not too long ago- there was a wedding at a zoo for gay penguins and the government wanted it annulled.

OMG that sounds hilarious - I'll have to hunt that episode online and watch it.

Yeah, it's a great episode- it's on Netflix, but I'm not sure if it's online any more.
