Am I the only one who finds videos like this completely creepy? Maybe I'm out of touch, but why would anybody GAF about seeing a couple of celebrities at baggage claim, far less feel the need to make an ass out oneself by invading their privacy, insisting that it be recorded on a cell phone when they're obviously not comfortable with it, and upload it to the internet? Some people need to get lives. I mean, if your at a bar about an hour before doors open at a Fleetwood Mac show and see Mick leaving for the venue, that's one thing, especially if you're cheering him on to kick ass that night. But when he's just at the airport, that's kind of lame.

Odd, too, that when people attack the phenomenon, they attack the Hiltons & the Kardashians, not the TMZ army (which is responsible for the phenomenon).

I thought that video that got posted a while back of Stevie leaving her doctor's office was creepy. I also thought those pictures of Christine at the airport a few years ago were creepy, as were those candids of her walking her dogs. Ooh, go figure, celebrities are humans, too, and also have to do the same mundane BS the rest of us do. If I DID see Stevie in an airport, I'd tell her that I've been a huge fan (like Buckingham Nicks bootlegs) and wish her well. If I was lucky, I'd have a conversation about music with her. That would be way cooler than trying to get a "money shot". NOW, if you're at a grocery store and bump into Paul McCartney and notice that he has a rack of ribs in his cart, well, that's another story entirely, because THERE'S SOMETHING COMPELLING about an outspoke vegan with a rack of ribs in his cart. A smart person could even make that funny. |

^It's not another story though. Compelling or not, it's still an invasion of privacy (probably even moreso) just like if you ran into him at the airport. That's a complete double standard, because that's exactly why the media exists - they photograph and record everything IN CASE there's something interesting so they can make money.
I don't agree with the way the media hound celebrities, and for the most part I find it pretty revolting... but if you're going to be upset about one thing you should be upset about it all. For the most part I've come to accept it and ignore it tbh. I try not to buy tabloids and all that stuff but other than that I don't think there's much I can do.

I like candids. I wouldn't take any though, but I can't say that I haven't enjoyed some of the stuff posted here, like Stevie looking into the shop window or leaving the steakhouse or that one with Lindsey walking down the street with Kristen. We giggled over that for several pages. I take delight in those things.
But I don't go to TMZ and didn't click on that Mick and Sedaka video. As a child I stopped buying tabloids. Back then the big three were The Enquirer, The Midnight Sun and The Star. I was a big Sonny and Cher fan and I always wanted all the magazines (remember Rona Barrett's magazines?) because I wanted to read stories about them possibly getting remarried. I spent my whole allowance on those magazines. But I noticed that when celebrities died that they would always try to get morgue shots of the dead star and I decided then and there that I didn't want to see a corpse of Sonny or Cher if they died and I stopped buying the tabloids back then. Never have bought them since. Wildhearted is right that they stalk the celebrities and take pictures of everything just in case it happens to be important. Just think if they hadn't been stationed outside of Michael Jackson's house, they wouldn't have seen his final death ride to the hospital. I'm sure TMZ was absolutely delighted with itself to get those images of the dead body on the stretcher. Made their jobs worthwhile, I suppose. Michele |

I like candid stuff too -- I can't say I didn't love Stevie leaving the steakhouse with the twins or drinking her coffee at the Neiman Marcus makeup counter. Quote:
