Oh my god, I know what you mean. I'm constantly leaving things behind. The worst time was when I left my phone on top of my car, after finishing a phone call... got a call at home the next day "Hi, I found your phone, it's been, err, ran over".

hi hon... just an fyi... you might want to consider taking the entire bag with you. i would do the just-take-wallet thing, until one day my vehicle was broken into. i can't help but wonder, if they hadnt seen the purse there, maybe they wouldnt have tried. i had my wallet with DL, creidt cards but lost irreplacable photographs, etc that were tucked in a side purse pocket. glad you found your wallet!

I read a news story today that really touched my heart. It was about people anonymously paying off the layaway purchases of complete strangers. I just think that is so awesome! I love the idea of "paying it forward" and was so happy to read this because I've seen more people being greedy instead of generous this holiday season.

Apparently this has happened in stores all of the US recently and it happened kind of close to where I live. Here's the story if anyone wants to check it out.

Isn't that the truth! The girls in my office keep me updated on which women don't wash their hands after using the restroom. It's staggering. I was always under the illusion that women were the far cleaner sex, but apparently that's not necessarily the case at all. I've never been a germophobe, but I've become an instant hand sanitizer addict since hearing the sobering news about just how dirty some of my coworkers are.

My American friend has some interesting thoughts on depression. She seems to think it's something people with the disorder can help and it's just sheer laziness that prevents them from fixing it. She thinks it's the sufferer's fault for "not maintaining a positive attitude", and that's the only contributing factor.

I think I'm going off of this woman.

Well, I can't say that I haven't consider your friend's position....I'm often AMAZED, at how many people I know, who are on depression meds. Several years ago, my close high school friends got together, for a reunion dinner of sorts. After a few drinks, someone brought up depression meds.....out of about 12 of us, 9 were on depression meds. Does 75% not seem a high percentage??? My best friend from high school, just looked at each other, like "what is wrong with these people?"

And now, it seems like MOST of my friends are on them, or have been on them. I guess I just don't understand what keeps people from being happy. I mean, things in my life suck, but do you know what? The good outweighs the suck! I'm in an extremely challenging relationship, and often feel neglected, so that part of my life sucks, but hey, everything else is cruising along nicely for me, so I just get over it, and take the good parts of the relationship, when they're available.

Anyway, growing up, when I'd tell my Mom that I was feeling depressed, she's just say, "David, get the hell over it. A lot of people have things a lot worse than you do." So I think I did just learn to get over it...to take the good things, and go with those.

Please don't attack me, for saying that "I can just get over it". I'm just saying that I think we are responsible for making our own happiness. Maybe everyone can't do that. But I can.

Tech question.....so I've never had a webcam on a computer, but I just bought one(Krogers had them marked down on clearance, 66% off!). So I've installed the software, and can see myself.....

Okay, I'm feeling very tech challenged now....
WHO can see me, and how do I have a webcam conversation?

Is that like a Skype thing?

How do I turn it on and off, or is it always on, if I'm on Skype or something?

Thanks!

Thanks!
Skype is the best video conferencing application I've used. It's totally hands free talk, and the video is pretty decent streaming quality.

Regarding how the program works: You have to approve friends for them to be able to see you online, then you have to approve those people to be able to watch your cam when you're actually online. So it's not like someone can just watch your cam anytime without your knowledge.
