All these concert bootlegs don't count.
In fact, how many Kazaa songs you dload doesn't count either UNLESS you have them all in 'share' mode and unless you have a few gig's worth to share. I have some kazaa songs (but I don't share). It's like a friend lending you a cd so you can check out to see if it's worth getting. I wouldn't have all the FM cds I do today if I hadn't got into them through samples and bootlegs online!

will FM pay my legal fees if I get sued? I think, NOT!!
dontlookdown, you totally cracked me up! you're not serious?

well, I've copied and moved all my regular music out of My Music folder, all that's left is concerts , some demos (I believe Stevie would sue if she ever found out who actually stole her demos from her home back in the 80's) and some oldies (can I actually get sued for having Petula Clark's Downtown, I'll have to get my Mom's old lp copy and put it in my collectionl) ...it looks like Kazaa will now go the way of audiogalaxy and napster, damn the RIAA!!

Joe, you are so lucky that you are in Austraila and out of the corporate greed-monkeys hands and the American courts jurisdiction. Come to think of it, is Kazaa an American company??? I thought I read somewhere, they're based out of Germany so how could the American courts get them??

Dont' be so sure.....if FM's management and record company thought that millions of dollars worth of earnings potential was going down the phone line 'illegally' they would come up with a lawsuit......but there is one thing with the Internet....it is practically impossible to police.

You know, I think the RIAA are completly stupid! I do not agree with what they're doing at all, most of my cd's I have are because I downloaded something off the net. I wouldn't have the Dixie Chicks album Home, or a whole other slew of cds. I do believe it is wrong to download whole cd's with at least buying the album, or if you don't like it, deleting it. Most of the stuff I have is boots, demos, or stuff you can't find on cd, or stuff I have on vinyl and want on cd. Like FM Live, a weird album my dad likes listening to... something called A Beatiful Day or something... and a whole bunch of David Soul songs I got from friends, Napster, other peer to peer programs, and vinyls.

Frankly, I'm frustrated cuz there is a lot of stuff I don't like out there... certain artists that only like one or two of their songs and don't want to buy the whole cd. I do like the iTunes store though... songs are only 99cents. Sorry I went on a rant and rave trip guys.
