Default why are so many people looking up Rumours forum?

just curious - noticed this for the last few days - twice as many people looking up this forum as SN forum... usually this forum has far less visitors than LB forum, which has about half or less than SN forum... what is going on and why everybody seems to be looking up FM? there definitely is not any more activity in the threads here than usual...

Who knows. I'm used to the Lindsey forum being a ghost town, save for a handful of die hard's. And we know Stevie fans pretty much create 90% of the total membership here. Maybe they keep looking in the vain hope that something will suddenly appear about an immaculate new album.

yeah, i know. here it's usually even more of a ghost-town than in Lindsey forum. and it still is message-wise, these people looking it up are all guests... in SN forum at least half are usually members. just curious.

I'll gladly take some of the credit here. A lot of people have been interested in this thread (The FM Game: If I never hear this song again it will be too soon) and while they're here they are reading the entire forum probably.

I think you could say the same thing about all of these forums lately; there is definitely a disproportionately smaller number of actual posts vs. the number of viewers online at any given moment. For whatever reason, there seems to be this passive hostility against the Ledge that I don't fully understand. In other words, people are willing to lurk for the latest information, but are unwilling to contribute. It's utterly lame, but whatever...

I'm somewhat guilty, but I agree. Let's get things moving!

The problem is, when a number of people stop posting at once (as seems to have happened), it has sort of a domino effect. Since there's less going on, the people who remain become less interested as well. It's a bummer.

Gracie... always offering up an appropriately Swiss comment. We should all be so diplomatic.

I do agree that there is a bit of a domino effect when a mass boycott occurs. But who needs all those shady, hating b****es anyway? Oops... as you can see, unlike you, I failed all of my charm school curriculum.

Here lately, I've found myself more lurking that actually posting. No real reason though I have been busy lately and my other part-time is not computer-internet friendly.

I've noticed traffic on Stevie's forum has dropped also. Lindsey's forum seems to be doing quite well!

that's interesting, and i'm thinking what you are referring to may be happening specifically in SN forum? on the main page i don't see less visitors of SN forum than usual, proportion of SN vs LB forum visitors has been about the same, and is actually a bit higher than usual 2:1 since Stevie's been touring Australia /visiting tv shows there. but Rumours forum visitors are usually as scarce as Lindsey forum visitors, and all of the sudden every day you can see these spurs of way more visitors checking out Rumours forum than even SN forum (e.g., 50 on Rumours vs 30 on SN). i haven't see this happening in the last 1-2 years that i was around.

my theory is that this is spurred by Stevie's Australian tour and that there must be a lot of talk there about her tour, but instead of interest in SN alone, this has spurred interest in FM. the Australian album sales figures seem to support this too as all 3 or so usual-suspect-FM-album sales are way up in Australia, plus at least one of the SN's greatest hits albums re-entered the charts there too but not nearly as high as FM albums.

Lindsey forum seems to be pretty steady with the number of posts and visitors, with spurs of activity when Seeds We Saw came out, as Lindsey was touring, and when Small Machine came out. since UK tour has been postponed i expect LB forum to pretty soon go to hibernation for a while till new dates are announced...

Yeah his solo albums have definitely sparked interest in the forum! Agreed
