I'm a Kroger boy. Always will be.

I'm heading out to meet some friends now, but FIRST, I'm gonna hit Kroger, and if they have any more of that French onion soup, I'm buyin' it all!
Mom and me shopped Marsh's for years, I grew up in SW Ohio, so we had one. But had shopped Kroger the past 15 years or more. Sadly it seems Marsh stores have struggled to keep up and I'm surprised they're still around. I used to love our Marsh in Ohio before solely shopping Kroger. I love Krogers. I think Krogers stop somewhere in Georgia and not in Florida anywhere.

It's so funny how even some MAJOR chains, are still regional. I'm too lazy to look, but I believe Kroger's is the #2 grocery retailer in the US. Is Publix #1?

I think there are Publix in a few other states but they dominate the market down here in Florida, there's way too many of them I think and they could use some good competition. We have Sweetbay and Winn Dixie and stores like Target and stuff but I only shop Publix for a few things. They do have a decent deli and produce and I like their hot buffet items they serve. The occasional mac n cheese and fried chicken are too good lol. And surprisingly milk at Publix here is 3.69 a gallon where some other places it can run closer to 4.00 even almost 5.00 in some stores. I like their meats too but they run higher down here than prices in Ohio. Publix does have a nice bakery also.

I wish I could tell you I had baboles over my house for dinner and dessert and then shared some good conversation, but a guy can dream, can't he?

And I think he appreciates your admiration. It's nice to feel acknowledged.

I do know that Publix is a southern thing(my birth mother is retired from a Publix in Orlando). I've never been inside a Publix...I think in Nashville, they have both Publix and Kroger's.

Maybe prices are cheaper up here, but Kroger's has milk on sale, about every other week, for $2.50, I believe(I don't drink milk, only cook with it, so I don't buy it very often)....

But my god, has anyone noticed MEAT prices? Geez Louise, WHO pays $13 for a steak from the grocery store? I can eat a smaller one, with a salad and sides, at Texas Roadhouse, for $13, INCLUDING TIP! I don't eat a lot of meat anymore, and I'm glad, seeing how expensive it is, now!

YES!! I plan to watch it this weekend. The first of about 3 annual Christmas viewings of it. Best Christmas movie ever. Love it!

Nice! I had roasted parsnip, honey and mustard soup. Sounds unusual but it was soooo good. Especially because it's freeze your b***s off cold here right now!

I buy milk to occasionally drink and I cook with it. Plus when my nieces and nephews are over they love their cereal. Yeah I believe Publix is a southern thing. I don't think they're up in Ohio.

That actually sounds great! And don't feel bad. This is a must from time to time.

I ate a marmite sandwhich for dinner, and now I have hiccups?

Strangest combination EVER.

French onion soup
Scrambled eggs scampi(my own invention)
Canadian bacon
American bacon!
Creamed spinach(the spinach was a bad idea for the combo, even though it was still good).
