Just got back from an amazing night!
Seeing both Dave and Stevie together was amazing! Just though I'd give a brief synopsis and then write a full review later, so tired! Dave ROCKED! I know a lot of the audience were boring but he was amazing! His son was definitely giving Stevie a run for her money on the tambo ![]() Security were really mean for this venue and constantly sent people back to their seats! Even those in the first five rows! Stevie was stunning as usual, Different boots tonight, the more ankle type heels with a strip of sequins down the heel of them. She dedicated Landslide to her 83yr old friend Margaret who apparently is a doll maker that helped her find a doll for one of Lindsey's daughters in 2005. The guy that won Australia's X-Factor was also there; his name is Reece Mastin and Stevie came out in a top hat and feathers and dedicated her Led Zep cover of Rock And Roll to him, "To remind him of the roots of Rock music!" I got to hold Stevie's hand during the Edge Walk, my first and so moving and amazing! I'm never washing my right hand again haha! A bunch of fans and I waited at the Stage door for well over an hour to try to get some more Stevie love! Dave Stewart said hi to a few people, And I did get to shake his hand, I wished I'd had my ticket stub or my copy of Blackbird Diaries with me for him to sign but I only had my In Your Dreams Poster with me to try and get Stevie to sign it (I thought it would be awkward to ask Dave to sign it =P). Finally when Stevie came out, she said that she had a lot to do or something and that she was really sorry but the fans could go tomorrow and hopefully she would sign something then. DEVO! But all in all I had a fantastic night!

Hey! I was one of those people hanging around afterwards (for like, 3 hours!) and managed to get a quick glimpse of Stevie in the car. Not sure if you'll remember me but I was wearing a red t shirt and am tall (and was a little drunk and overexcited).
The show was amazing, my first Stevie solo show! I was in row 7 but managed to sneak my way to the front about half way through after a couple of failed attempts. I think one of my favorite parts was when she was introducing the band and explained that her keyboard player (I forget his name) was the best keyboard player ever - after Christine mcvie! The show was just brilliant, I've now completely lost my voice! |

She said the same thing in Vegas, and I loved it too.

I am a latecomer to the magic of Stevie Nicks. In the 1990s, I despised Fleetwood Mac – they represented the opposite of everything I liked about music eg. electronic, repetitive beats, with no guitars or real drums. Obviously, things have changed, I don’t do raves any more and Fleetwood Mac still sell albums 30+ years later. They were featured on Glee introducing them to a new young audience (who will probably download their albums)! In the 80s, I really liked Stevie’s solo track, Stand Back (much later on I found out it was inspired by Prince’s Little Red Corvette and he performed on the song). Other than that I didn’t have much time for these rock legends. Anyway, it’s true what they say about the more you hear a song, even if you hate it, you get used to it and then you start to like it! So constantly hearing Stevie Nicks over the last 20 years finally got into my brain. Then I started working with Ms JHair and she really got me into Stevie in the workplace (I still manage to be the office music Nazi). Anyway, about the concert. Dave Stewart was her special guest, I guess no-one really knew any of his new stuff, as the audience was pretty stiff during his performance. When the band did some Eurythmics tracks (Here Comes the Rain again, Missionary Man…), it just didn’t feel the same without Annie Lennox. An annoucement before Stevie came on stage asked the audience not to take photos or videos of the performance (ala Bjork). But really, no – I want a momento. Sorry Stevie. Stevie Nicks appeared right on schedule at 9pm. She was actually much better vocally than I thought she was going to be. The concert went for two hours, which I consider very good value nowadays (Janet didn’t even last an hour and a half). Stevie told us from the start that it was NOT a “greatest hits” show and she was going to play her new stuff (whether you wanted to hear it or not). I can appreciate that she would want to plug her new album, after all, she said she worked really hard on it and was immensely proud of it. Luckily, I had acquired the new album a couple of weeks ago to familiarise myself with In Your Dreams. My favourite tracks of the night were Stand Back (the opening track), Dreams, Rhiannon, Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream), Landslide & Edge of Seventeen. You can see the entire tracklist here. I enjoyed her anecdotes from her career and explanations of her new songs. She kept making jokes about being “old” – good to see a diva who can joke about herself. I was concerned when she needed a helper guy to make sure she didn’t fall over when she wanted to bend down and shake the audience’s hand during the finale. I also saw on Facebook, that PAdam got to touch her hand! Overall, a pretty awesome concert! As Tricky Dicky Wilkins said at the Arias, she is the queen of rock n roll! |

Viv, you have no idea how much I wanted to!
We waited for so long and she didn't even shake hands with people or anything! Quote:
![]() I'm also tall and was wearing a bluey denim looking shirt. I think we weren't far from each other when Stevie was doing the edge walk! She was so funny that night and kept joking about how old she was, even saying that she and Edgar Allen Poe were friends 200yrs ago! And that she was going to live to be 3000yrs old or something. Did you get to meet Dave Stewart while you were waiting outside?

What was the full setlist? Did she drop something for Rock and Roll?

Stevie also referred to Madison Square Garden a couple of times, I'm not entirely sure why! I was struck by how different she seems when she performs solo - she seems much more interactive and even happier. I've seen her with FM 4 times and quite often she seemed like she'd rather be elsewhere and didn't interact at all with the audience (in any kind if intimate way) I’ve felt quite deflated since then but can’t complain too much, I’ve got front row seats for Wollongong on Monday. Seriously excited! |

Ive been so much looking forward to seeing Stevie Live, & now with just one more sleep till i see her for the first time solo. All my excitement has now turned to total sadness, last night my son was taking our lovely 14 month old Staffy dog for his routine walk before bed, he was hit by a car & died instantly. Im devastated, so sad & not even happy about going to the concert tomorrow night
this feeling sucks big time!!!! |

A girl just up from me had that self defense book with Stevie air kicking the guy on the cover, And the girl next to me had the most amazing "Stevie Nicks" Tattoo using the Crystal Visions font on the inside of her arm. Stevie did refer to Madison Square Garden alot! She was saying that Sydney was the equivalent of playing Madison Square Garden in the states. Although the entertainment centre isn't that big! It was great to see her so happy, vibrant and enthusiastic about her creativity, much better than when I saw her in 2009 on the FM Unleashed tour. I'm so jealous! Wish I could go to the Wollongong Show! Front row too! Have a fantastic night! Quote:
such terrible news.Hopefully Stevie will be able to lift your spirits, My family recently lost someone very close and when my Mum and I were at the concert she was moved to tears by Moonlight, the piano and the story of the lonely lost and disconnected woman just overwhelmed her. I really hope that you are ok ![]() My thoughts are with you.
