Secret Love has never been good live - it simply doesn't transition well to the stage, for a variety of reasons. This is no better or worse than any of the times she sang it on US TV.

She looks beautiful, that said.

Awesome performance! Now that's a rock voice. Love how she holds the notes.

I too was expecting a bad performance, but I've seen alot worse from her. She looks fantastic and I don't think she appeared drunk or stoned at all. The vocal was bit loud or forced, but I thought it was a nice performance and the crowd seemed to really like it. It's probably not that easy to keep your energy up after flying half way across the world to Australia. I think she did good.

I did notice the sound mix was great balance. Stevie's voice was awesome.

Can you all please take your rose coloured glasses off! After having compared this performance to others, it is clear that this was horrible. Check out Ellen, or Oprah she at least hits notes as opposed to the flat flat flat sound she has displayed here!

Skip, thank you for posting this video. I loved the promo they gave her before she sang and enjoyed her comments after the performance.

Secret Love has NEVER been good live and I don't think it ever will be. Steve Real deserves a kick in the ass for telling her it sounds good live. Also, who the hell is the genius who thinks a great way to pay tribute to Stevie is to do a melody of Fleetwood Mac songs NOT written by her and then playing "Go Your Own Way" over her little montage? Le sigh...

I agree. She sounds like she's coming down with something again.

That was my initial thought the first time I saw this. Last thing she needs is to get sick again with such a short tour of Australia, especially since Dave is coming along too, would hate for him to just not perform if she is sick.

I wouldn't say "horrible" but even the post-pneumonia performance on Ellen was better than this.

I haven't read through this thread... I do agree with you justcrazylove.
I was anticipating this performance.. after seeing her in peak form pretty much this whole year.. and especially when touring this album on tv and her shows. I was i guess thinking she would blow Australia away with her new voice and energy in her performances of this new material....

Unfortunately, so unfortunate, as soon as stevie started singing, something sounded waaay wrong, and i started turning it down.. then down a little bit more, then down to almost mute. I actually didn't even watch it all. I then put on her show from redrocks recorded this year... WORLD of difference.

At first I thought she couldn't hear herself hence the sort of screaming and trying to find the correct notes etc. but then, when the guy talked to her, she took out her earpieces. Maybe they didn't work
As for all the hand movements... that's gotta go. It's like she's singing for the hard of hearing. It bugs the heck out of me.
