Hmmmmm, maybe you all "down under" are just a bit too harsh
I just listen to the above vid. and considering I had the vol. way low as I'm at work...... I liked it!! If your not happy with this performance you may not like the upcoming shows either?

I just dont think it was "as bad" as some of you have expressed? One good thing is, we are "all entitled to our own opion" and I'll leave it at that~

You Rock On Stevie!!

I have to say I saw the clip from the x-factor australia performance I love my Stevie but she has not been sounding right at this year she has had some good performances here or there very few. I saw here during the recording of the new album she did spotty shows last aug. 2010 while recording the new cd and she sounded awesome one of her best shows she did last year. She definetly is not sounding like herself for some reason. She is really nervous performing her new songs I don't know. I want to say she didn't sound that great on the x factor.I think she needs to rest and recharge her batteries.

Wow!!! Caitlin, you and I are on the same page. That was a fantastic performance and I don't even like that song. (I love the demo tho) Her vocal was strong, her movements were energetic, she looks great and happy, and sounds clear and in front of the music rather than Waddy's guitar drowning her out. I loved it!!! Also wanted to say how impressive how she held the note in the end and then made an interesting whistling sound into the mic at the very end.

She's pushing on the notes too much resulting her sounding like she's screaming, flat, and much rougher than the spirit of the song.

This reminds me of a dedication Stevie gave one of her goddaughters, who was named Lindsay Christine. She dedicated Landslide to the girl and then said with a smirk, "Yes, my friend named her daughter Lindsay Christine."

"Secret Love" is a song that requires a more subtle delivery (like "If Anyone Falls"), so it never quite lives up to the studio version -- but I thought she sounded quite good there. In fact, I liked it better than any of the US TV performances.

I actually thought it was alright too... I was expecting the worst considering what I read... but after watching it, I was like... are we watching the same program? She sounded pretty good... She over does a little I agree... and the song itself doesn't translate all that well live after hearing the album version... But it was better than the US performances of the song.

I enjoyed it, it got much better in the second half IMO.
The actions were maybe a tiny bit overkill, but maybe she was inspired by all that pointing and chest clutching in the final four's performance?

Happy to see some postive feedback, was starting to think I was going tone deaf and a bit blind? Not the best performance but not as bad as some have claimed it to be either?

Also noted: I tend to come to Stevie's defence weather she's good or bad, right or worng, black or white, so with that being said...... Gooooooo Stevie!!!

^^^ I don't watch any X-Factor shows, but maybe they didn't include any SN songs in the tribute so as not to put anyone under the pressure of having to make a no-win comment, such as 'That was great, much better than old Nicksy there!' or 'That was shyte! Nicksy, I'll hold them down while you get the boot in, doll!'

I've never actually seen Stevie perform a decent version of Secret Love live. I can actually see why people would think she was a little drunk. Like someone else said, Secret Love needs a subtle delivery, Stevie pushes it too much. And the accent on the "cant" just doesn't make sense!

Not a good performance, I was embarrassed for her.
