Default The Iron Lady (film)

Being a bit of a film geek i've just watched the trailer for this and i'm intrigued to watch it. I know there was a bit of up roar about Meryl Streep landing the role of Thatcher but from the trailer she seems to of got the Thatcher manerisms down to a T. I smell an oscar for Meryl.

I love Meryl - I look forward to seeing this film.

She was just great in Mamma Mia, well really she's great in everything!

Meryl is brilliant and I agree about mamma mia. The iron lady is directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the same person that did mamma mia!

I'm so interested to see this film, I can also see her getting nominated for this.

I saw this a while ago and was very impressed. She nails the voice. More impressive though id the publicity poster. It's a fantastic image... The Houses of Parliament bleeding into Maggie's face while her neckline looks like a knife cutting through the blue of the conservatives. I tried to get an image of it embedded into here but for some reason it won;t work - bah!

No question she'll be nominated for this. Not only is it Meryl but she's playing a British historical figure.

It looks awful. That ad is like The King's Speech. ugh. Weinstein always drives a "winning" formula into the ground.

It's a great loss that, originally, Streep was to play Thatcher in a bio-pic directed by Oliver Stone. Dear GOD, can u imagine how great that soundtrack would have been!?

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Um... WHAT?

Brezhnev took Afghanistan
Begin took Beirut
Galtieri took The Union Jack
And Maggie, over lunch one day
Took a cruiser with all hands
Apparentley, to make him give it back

That whole film would likely have been great!
