That crowd reaction at the end was awesome. It must have been a really emotional day for Stevie, and Lindsey for that matter.

I got this from The Ledge back in 1997. Can't remember what ledgie shared it. The camera properties are lost in the jpg file, but the filename is fmac091797, so it's probably from the Reunion tour opening night, sep. 17 Meadows Music Theatre Hartford, CT

Though Christine is not in the pic, I'm completely sure is from 1997

Rumours: Fleetwood Mac Blow-Up Blows Off Concert

October 20 [10:00 EDT] -- The last minute cancellation of Fleetwood Mac's concert in Vancouver, Canada, angered a lot of fans last week, but this week those fans are really livid over a report that the cancellation was not due to the 'bronchitis' supposedly affecting Lindsey Buckingham, but rather a temper tantrum courtesy of Stevie Nicks.

The daily Vancouver Province newspaper said yesterday that the band had a major blowout after their show in Tacoma, Washington, last Saturday (October 11) for reasons unknown, with Nicks in the center of the fray. She apparently refused to make the trip to Vancouver the next day to play the Sunday night concert in spite of all attempts by management to convince her to do so.

The show was called off an hour before showtime, just as the doors to the venue were about to open. Estimates say roughly 10,000 fans had already arrived or were en route when a press release was issued saying that a doctor was advising Buckingham not to perform. Press antennae were raised when it was discovered the band hadn't even made it into the country much less to the venue, and that Buckingham wasn't even hoarse at the performance the previous night or for the dates that followed in California.

The paper pointed out that the reported behaviour wasn't out of character for Nicks--in the past she had ordered a $20,000 video scrapped because it made her arms look fat.

Fleetwood Mac broke up acrimoniously not too many years after their 1977 "Rumours" album became one of the best selling albums of all time. The recent kiss-and-make-up reunion tour and album ("The Dance") have both proved very successful so far.

Neither representatives for the band nor the promoters were immediately available for comment.

I agree, I think you are right, this was proven as BS a long while back...and if you listen to the Tacoma show, Lindsey does not sound good at all.

There are a few clues, the biggest being where Stevie is standing. Also, Lindsey isn't wearing a wife beater and a leather jacket.

HALL OF A YEAR FOR FLEETWOOD MAC
By DAVID HINCKLEY ; Sunday, November 30th 1997, 2:03AM

What has happened with Fleetwood Mac this year might be described as a peculiar sort of delayed reaction.

The band got back together after a partial breakup, releasing a new album and launching a tour that, so far, has been quite successful.

Probably not by coincidence, then, Fleetwood Mac was simultaneously remembered by the music business. Among other things, it will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in January.

It had been eligible for several years, but this was the first year it was even nominated a strange omission considering how many tens of millions of records this group sold in the '70s and '80s.

Musically, the same lineup that made those records, most notably "Rumours," is part of this year's reunion: Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Mick Fleet-wood and John McVie. Buck-ingham had been the first to leave, in 1987, while Nicks and Christine McVie followed a couple of years later.

Fleetwood and John McVie never let the group lapse, however Fleetwood in particular because he has seen many musicians come and go since Mac was launched in England in 1967 as a blues band (and a very good one).

The five musicians who are back together all worked on various solo and other-group projects over the past few years, none with any enduring level of success.

So they look like a reasonably happy bunch onstage now, and fans can see the evidence Friday night at 10 when WNET/ Ch. 13, as part of Pledge Week and its "In the Spotlight" series, airs "Fleetwood Mac: The Dance," a 90-minute concert taped in May and already shown on MTV and VH1.

The program takes the group through all the popular years, with a sturdy song selection that includes "Rhiannon," "Say That You Love Me" and "Go Your Own Way," plus presidential favorite "Don't Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow)."

Not all the songs sound as recorded, but there's nothing unrecognizable.

Even the new songs have that full-bodied Mac gloss and as if to underscore that point, "Don't Stop" is performed with the 85-piece University of Southern Cali-fornia Trojan Marching Band.

Yes, the Mac is back.
