I'm sure someone mentioned this one, but "Paranormal Activity" is really terrifying. The sequels not so much. Another good movie that came out a couple of years ago called "House of the Devil" is really good too. It's got a slow build, but by the end of the movie, you will be terrified!

The Exorcism of Emily Rose
The Strangers These movies scared me. Most don't. I love horror movies - they're my favorite genre. I don't find slasher/gore films even the least bit frightening - they're just bloody and gross. But I'll watch them sometimes, though mostly they bore me. I like demons, monsters, ghosts & real scary sh*t. Oh - also - The Fourth Kind. The first hour scared the bloody hell out of me. Midnight Meat Train. This movie was disturbing - at one point I had to turn it off and just make some food and watch some lighthearted TV. All in all it was pretty lame, but had it's good moments.

SO MANY MOVIE TRAILERS I HAVE TO WATCH lol
Ive aactually never really been into scary/horror/gory/etc movies before...Ive just always been too scared and then it would take me like forever to fall asleep at night. Oh and not to mention I HATE when things pop out of no where and freak me the **** out lol I scream and then hide under the blanket...and then those bloody ones are just gross lmao I could barely handle my own blood let alone gushing blood on tv....and paranormal movies freak me out too...then when I go to bed I think something is there lol Ive been into scary movies lately for some reason and yet I still get scared lmao but not as bad

I'm not a huge scary movie guy because... well... they scare me.
![]() One of the few scarier films that I've seen more than once that always freaks me out is 28 Days Later.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose was fantastic! Gotta check into The Strangers. I recently watched and enjoyed "INSIDIOUS" - It's sorta low rent, but creepy in all darkest places of your mind! And beside Patrick Wilson being hard on the eyes, Barbara Hershey gives Karen Black a run for her campy creepiness throne. She's getting quite good at this type of role, think Black Swan. DEVIL was also "entertaining" enough. It starts out more disturbing, then became unintentionally laugh out loud, everytime the lights went off in the elevator I was highly amused!Last edited by Christopher; 10-18-2011 at 10:22 AM.. |

Dream House was not scary, but it was really well acted (as directed by Jim Sheridan) and it is BEAUTIFUL to look at (shot by the GREAT MONSTER GENIUS D.P. Caleb Deschanel). Despite its flaws, I appreciated its social understanding: as the nightmares of one house destroy the dreams of another.

Ten Greatest Horror Films (1 per director)
1. The Fury (Brian De Palma, 1978) 2. The Birds (Alfred Hitchcock, 1963) 3. Vampyr (Carl Theodor Dreyer, 1932) 4. Exorcist II: The Heretic (John Boorman, 1977) 5. The Company of Wolves (Neil Jordan, 1984) 6. Jaws (Steven Spielberg, 1975) 7. Nosferatu (F.W. Murnau, 1922) 8. Ganja & Hess (Bill Gunn, 1973) 9. Near Dark (Kathryn Bigelow, 1987) 10. The Innocents (Jack Clayton, 1961) ETA: The eight-minute short Hearts of Age (Orson Welles, 1934) is the scariest movie I've ever seen. I saw it in junior high as a bonus feature on a Citizen Kane Laserdisc. I swore I would never see it again. . . and I still haven't broken that oath.

I did see Insidious - I enjoyed it, but found it started off far better than it ended. I *love* American Horror Story. I'm already annoyed that I have to wait in between episodes. I'm curious as to what Zachary Qunito's role will be; I loved him as Sylar in Heroes and hope that he's playing an equally disturbed role. It's those eyes!

The Shining and The Exorcist scare me pretty good. The Thing ( the one from the 80s with Kurt Russell) is pretty darn creepy too.

Ohhh.. almost forgot...The Strangers with Liv Tyler.
![]() Yeah, the first The Thing remake (the Kurt Russell one) was pretty damned scary! Not so much "scary", as "thriller", Enough with J-Lo, Billy Campbell, Noah Wylie & Fred Ward.
