Default Moonlight is not on the new twilight soundtrack

Hello everyone, I saw this story on nme. Stevie Nicks is apparently not included on the soundtrack to the new twilight film. This seems somewhat surprising given the amount of publicity generated this year related to Moonlight and it's connection to the twilight films.

http://www.nme.com/news/the-joy-formidable/59451

The full tracklisting for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 is:

The Joy Formidable - 'Endtapes'
Angus & Julia Stone - 'Love Will Take You'
Bruno Mars - 'It Will Rain'
Sleeping At Last - 'Turning Page'
The Features - 'From Now On'
Christina Perri - 'A Thousand Years'
Theophilus London - 'Neighbors'
The Belle Brigade - 'I Didn't Mean It'
Noisettes - 'Sister Rosetta (2011 Version)'
Cider Sky - 'Northern Lights'
Iron & Wine - 'Flightless Bird, American Mouth (Wedding Version)'
Imperial Mammoth - 'Requiem On Water'
Aqualung & Lucy Schwartz - 'Cold'
Mia Maestro - 'Llovera'
Carter Burwell - 'Love Death Rebirth'

Not surprising at all. Stevie spoke about the song in terms of the inspiration she she got from those movies. Somehow speculation and rumours perpetuated the idea that the song was written for the soundtrack, I don't think anyone involved with the movie ever approached Stevie to submit a song for inclusion in the soundtrack.

Bruno Mars is the only act I've heard of on that list. Perhaps they might have approached Stevie but her agreement was deemed too expensive. Or perhaps they never requested Moonlight at all.

To be honest I'm not a fan of "Twilight" saga but considering how popular it is, in many ways it could have served as a sales generator for "In Your Dreams" album. "Moonlight" is one of the strongest songs on this album and should be released as a single with or without any links with aforementioned saga.

Any mention of Twilight, Glee, High School Musical or any other teenage fad brings me out in hives.

Stevie has state repeatedly that the song was inspired by the films. The lyrics reflect that fairly well, too.

Perhaps it'll be on the soundtrack for Breaking Dawn Part 2?

But didn't she get inspired by one of the older films she saw in Oz or something?
No reason at all for her to be on the soundtrack, besides that soundtrack is tightly marketed to Twilight's demographic: teens.

I have to agree.Bruno Mars is the over artist I heard of.Can anyone shed any light on these artists.Yes Stevie's name would of stick out like a sore thumb on this list.

Cristina Perri and Iron and Wine are sort of well known, at least among my social circles.

Perri sings that "Jar of Hearts" song.

Iron and Wine doesn't really have any hits, but chances are you've heard one of his songs before.

The rest of them...I have no idea whatsoever who they are. Probably typical stuff you hear while shopping at Urban Outfitters.

That's true... it might've been one of the earlier films. Then again I think song is relevant to the series. For all we know maybe Stevie didn't want to give up the song for the soundtrack. I'm sure that's Stevie's choice... we don't know if she was approached or not.

So true, many variables. This one of your fans from IYD? I think we may see something brew eventually with Moonlight.

Did you mean is it one of my favourites? I like it well enough. I prefer tracks like "You May Be The One"
