Check out this clip from the Donny & Marie show from the 70's. I think Suzanne Sommers snuck into Stevie's closet. Forward to 4:15. I half expected Suzanne to break out into a rousing rendition of Stand Back!

The "other woman" is Donny's sister Marie in a blond wig. And the 70's were a very different time. While the teens and young adults were smoking pot and listening to Stevie belt out Rhiannon the families were going for more wholesome entertainment. Donny & Marie were what Glee is today. Entertainers doing watered down versions of rock songs on a family friendly tv show. TV had only been around for a few decades, color tv was a new and exciting thing. And the idea of making tv shows that really showed off brilliant colors, singing and dancing and comedy was a really big thing. And there was a lot of it. Sonny & Cher, Captain & Tennile, Shields & Yarnell, and even the Brady Bunch got into the act. Yeah it was corny but people liked corny. The edgy stuff was still on the fringes with stuff like Laugh-In, and even Saturday Night Live in it's early days was something the kids were already in bed before and was seen as really subversive and wild. It took a while for it to become the household name it is today. |

marie looks very "stevie" to me in that part of the skit... with her hair up. Very "Tusk" era Stevie.

I'm surprised KISS let them get away with those dancers dressed like KISS. It was like watching KISS in a bizzarro universe where instead of a hard rock band they are all gay Vegas dancers.
