Default What are the bonus tracks?

I noticed on another post the lyrics for a song titled "Sleeping Around the Corner." Is this one of the bonus tracks?

Default Sleeping Around the Corner

Yes, it is available only through iTunes. Amazon "exclusively" has an acoustic version of End of Time and an electric version of Seeds We Sow.

I don't know about anyone else, but I LOVE "Sleeping Around The Corner", and iTunes has it so you don't have to buy the whole album in order to get the bonus track. You can get it for only 0.99 cents, and in my opinion, it's well worth it!!!! Hope you like it to!

SATC keeps getting better and better. I love how he combines humour and romantic longing--with his funniest vocal since TBT.

I love it. It's infectious. I don't think it hung with the rest of the album though. So, I see leaving it off.

I really, really like SATC but the lyrics... In any case, it's extremely catchy and I think it is worthy of being a bonus, but I agree with Michele it doesn't fit on the album.

I'm not sure what genre I'd put SATC in, not blues exactly, but not rock, country or folk either --at least not fully.

But am I the only one who hears the vocals as the equivalent to Christine's Halloween costume?

I disagree. It belonged on the album as much as the Electric version of SWS (which I also know you don't believe hung with the other material). I think the addition of those two songs would have given a more complex and rounded perspective on the central existential themes (longing and love) of the album, proving that such emotions are not only communicated in the standard "serious" tone represented by the rest of the album. That's the great truth of Holiday Road (which is, Beach Boys-style, the definitive Myth of a common experience and a common desire). Lindsey's pomo project has been to show how a variety of pop codes can express his individual psychological and spiritual condition.

I did question Lindsey's dialect and grammar in the vocals, certainly he was going for something. But not B. B. King really. I did not equate it to Christine's costume.

I think albums should have a theme and his last 4 have, but I think the songs should compliment each other and not clash. They should have a common theme sonically, not just message wise.

Seeing those babies with the electric Seeds We Sow, just put me in mind of Holiday Road and I think in the end, it's not meaningful enough for the album. It's a good outtake, for sure and it's more involving than the original, but it's more zany than an artistic triumph. If you have to choose between those 2 versions, the traditional take won rightly. Choose the bonus track and I think you're diminishing the message.

As for SATC, it just seems like a different genre to me. You can have different approaches on the album, all expounding on a theme, but to me, if anything SATC would belong on Law and Order or Tusk more than on this particular album. And when I say Tusk, I don't just mean Lindsey's song. I think SATC goes well with Honey Hi too.

I think Lindsey, like everyone else, is cajoled by the "big machine" (lol) like iTunes and Amazon to release bonus tracks so they can make money. I mean, that's an obvious statement in itself, but when I hear people talking about SATC and how it should/should not have been left off, I immediately think, he cut it off because that was his deal with iTunes, he axed it from somewhere in the album. Something like that with the Amazon's, except those two seem more genuine "bonus" tracks.

11 tracks is pretty short, without bonus tracks about 42 minutes. It's possible SATC is an outtake but I feel it fits with the rst of the album fine. It's not like there's a total unity within the songs, I like how the album transitions from one style to another between most tracks.

I'm loving this collection of songs and can't wait to see him on the 30th. I do think that SATC should have been included on the CD. I think it would have fit in fine, its such a great track. I could hear Stevie and Christine all over the chours back in the day on this Song. I LOVE THIS SONG!

This is such a great description Peestie.. I think this describes the most mainstream parts of the Tusk album and really well some of my fave Lindsey stuff. For those who aren't quite sure what I mean, TTWLG falls smack into this category as well, IMO.

Default Bonus songs from Seeds We Sow?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed. Are there songs that didn't make it on the album? If so, what are the titles? I'd prefer to have/buy CD singles of them, but know that is old school!
