However, Adele will not be nominated for any of the rock categories:

-Best Rock Solo Vocal Performance
-Best Rock Song
-Best Rock Album

I think Stevie is a shoo-in for all of these. Another oddball category could be Best Recording Package.
Normally I would agree, but didn't the Grammy's announce streamlining and removing a bunch of categories last year? I know they eliminated "Best Female Rock Solo Vocal Performance - which Stevie was always nominated for (sans "Street Angel").
This unfortunately means Stevie is also now competing for votes with male & female "rock" artists! And the grammy's have homogenized their definition of "rock" so loosely as the years have gone by And besides that, there is some reasonable doubt that Stevie will have slim chances in the "Rock Song" or "Rock Album" categories, where she will most likely be up against the likes of artists and bands, such as the Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes, Red Hot Chili Pepper's, Lady Gaga - whom I wouldn't put past the Grammys lumping into the rock category as well as the ubiquitous Adele

I hope I am wrong & eating my words when the nominations are announced, because outside Stevie's work in "Bella Donna" which criminally did not receive as much due or recognition as it deserved back in the stone ages. "In Your Dreams" deserves all the accolades it has received. And what an achievement it would mean for Stevie to finally (as a solo artist) walk away with that award! Validation not only for her, but her fans. She is truly the long distance winner, and it's about time they recognize her in someway other than just a nomination!

A shoo-in? I hope you're right, but I doubt it.

I don't see why they wouldn't nominate In Your Dreams for album of the year. It's a great album and Stevie has definately been out there working it. I hope to see her at Grammy time.

Well, there is always some random nominee that can sometimes swoop in and take it all..not that Stevie is unknown..but compared to Adele at the moment..she is the underdog..thanks to the lovely, piece of **** music industry...

The best arguments for Stevie procuring a Grammy nomination(s) are: A) She has been working like a dog to raise her profile with numerous high profile TV appearances & print interviews & 2 successful tours this year (Heart & Soul and IYD) B) "In Your Dreams" has received the best and most consistent critical reviews of all Stevie's solo albums and her Fleetwood Mac contributions in her career. C) Stevie has practically been the Susan Lucci of Grammy nominations and zero wins, and is getting especially hard to ignore the longer her storied illustrious career plays out. D) Stevie is the underdog, always has been, but now Stevie has built up an undeniable & honorable legacy & longevity that even her harshest critics have difficulty at the very least adorning respect her way.

Certainly I've neglected a few other notable keynotes....

Actually that's what I think will eventually happen. This year would be the perfect time for that, not only because of In Your Dreams, but give it to her before she gets too old.

I think it would be fabulous if they acknowledge her this year in some form because this may be her last solo album/cd! Adele, on the other hand, is only starting and if her next cd is as good as this one then she'll have many chances next time!

You know, I really think Stevie has a chance with IYD. The Grammy's tend to surprise me with the album of the year. I mean, in the past there have been some that I never even heard of. I have a gut feeling Stevie is going to win big this coming Grammy year...

Mark my words, I just have a very STRONG gut feeling.... and not to sound to "dreamer like" or "Stevie-ish" but normally when I have a strong feeling....it tends to come to fruition.

And if she does win, ofcourse CD sales will go through the roof. Think back to Bonnie Raitt, her career was pretty much almost dead....and singing in small places. She swept the Grammy's and everyone was able to see how great of a performer she was.... I think this is the "Rumours" for Stevie. There is something very different with the vibe of this CD, very mystical but at the same time it is very Earthy and easy to connect to. It is not overproduced, and has some great songs..... This will definitely stir up some dirt.....and cause a storm.

Let's hope your "strong gut feeling" comes to gratifying fulfillment! I believe Stevie holds the record for most Grammy nominations for Best Female Rock Vocal without a win. Stevie has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards as a solo artist in total. I was just thinking, wouldn't it just be a kick in the gut if Stevie earned a nomination for her great contribution on Buddy Holly's tribute album for "Not Fade Away" and they ignored her solo album!

BTW, I like your description of IYD, I agree wholly. It's a very mature piece of work that retains her dreamy and unconventional style while being accessible.
