Default SYW at 34 In Billboard

Compared to the bigger sellers in the US, this album is doing pretty well. It hasn't been dropping that fast which is good.

Now it's down to about 47 I think, still in the top 50.

I still can't believe their outselling Madonna but they are.

Anyone knows the number of sold copies this week? And 47 is the current position, is that right? Saw the numbers of sold copies usually on hitsdailydouble but this week it`s no more on the list... Any info available?

Actually they are at #43, and the best I can say about how many copies they sold is that the #31 album sold 32,000 copies. So, I'm sure it sold at least 25,000 copies, probably slightly more.

Thanks for the info. I summed the sales up, which were mentioned on hitsdailydouble during the last 8 weeks plus the 25000 you assumed in your post. Summed up I get 543000 copies. Ahem no there are actually not really 543000 Fleetwood Mac Cd`s in my living room, that would cause several problems I guess. So I shouldn`t say I get this number.
But it seems the album now has gold status, isn`t the cut 500000 sold copies to achieve that?

So that's actualy numbers SOLD and not shipped right?

Good for them, I think they might break the 1mill mark with this album in the US. Has Say You Will the single been released yet?

Well I guess Peacekeeper crashing the Billboard Hot 100 with much conviction was never on the cards, but they are currently at No. 14 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Singles Chart - I'm quite happy with that performance at this stage of the game.
I can't wait to see how the remixed single 'Say You Will' fares.

Yes, 500,000 copies SHIPPED means gold status. Unfortunately, RIAA seems to be slacking quite a bit in their certifications. Not only do they STILL show VBOFM as only gold (Billboard had it as platinum), but they show nothing for Say You Will. Neither does Billboard though, because it should have a black circle next to the title to indicate gold. I also noticed this on a few other albums, one in particular is The Very Best of Cher. That cd has been in the top 20 it's entire time, so I'm sure it's gold, if not platinum, yet there's nothing next to the title. So yes, I'm sure SYW is gold, it just hasn't been certified as such yet.

Yeah It should be Gold by now but I think that's Warner Bros. fault. I think they're have to request it to be certified.

Maybe they're slacking waiting for Madonna's album to catch up.

The album moved up four spots to # 39. Sales are still relatively strong. They are outselling Madonna b/c the album is much better than hers, and sometimes better music wins out (not often, but sometimes) That isn't saying much, b/c nowadays Madonna sucks. She ought to get off the Euro-techno schtick.

madonna's not about euro techno at all, if you wanna know what euro techno really is, download any Scooter track and get the point. madonna's last two albums are low-fi french house.

They are lo-fi french house. And that's not why isn't not selling. The songs just arn't very good. They're not catchy, and they don't really grab you on first listen.

Look, I like Madonna, and I thought her last two albums were good. But this album is just BORING. I've barely listenend to it since I bought it and beyond her hardcore fan base, she hasn't managed to connect with casual listeners.

Of course try saying that on her message board and they'll tear you a new one. I've never seen so many excuses put forward while none of them are willing to admit, maybe people just don't like it?

FM so far has fared will considering what's popular today. The reason being, they did put forth a good album. The fan base bought it the first week or so, right now I think the album is selling on casual listeners and I think that's because the buzz about this album has been good. I've been recomending people check it out. I really haven't heard a lot of negativity about it and in general people seem to be pleased with it so naturally word-of-mouth and the music itself is selling the album.
