I'm not sure how I feel about the added weight in the first picture. It doesn't look particularly healthy. Not because he weighs more, which most Lindsey fans would probably agree was a good thing. But to me, it doesn't look like "I've eaten an extra sandwich" weight. He just looks bloated. Almost reminiscent of my alcoholic Uncle. But Lindsey's not a drinker, so it is pretty strange. Ah well. He looks so much better now.

I agree. He looks distorted. Reminds me of Jerry Lewis. If we learned he was on some sort of medication back then, it would not surprise me. Glad he looked tighter, quicker and better as the tour progressed.

Knowing Lindsey's character and past problems, it wouldn't surprise me if he were on some sort of Anti-Depressant back then. But at least he's in a better place now, from what we've seen of him.

Really? I don't see Lindsey as the anti-depressant type. I actually think he seems to get meditative help from his music and he seems to have relied heavily on his verbal counseling too. I just don't imagine him as being too dependent on anything except pot.

But yes I definitely think he was retaining water back then, for whatever reason.

Depression is a funny thing. You think you can rely completely on au naturale techniques for dealing with it. But before you know it, and for whatever reason, sometimes you come to realise that no matter how much you entrust yourself to these methods, it just isn't enough any more. And whether you like it or not, more needs to be done. Meditation and such are like Antibiotics. They only work for so long before they stop working and you need to tackle the problem head on. I know he's a proud man, but even the most proud people sometimes have to concede that they need help. As for the Pot, it's widely thought that excessive use can exacerbate depression, which certainly could be the case for Lindsey as we know he does use the drug to an excess.

We know LB is an epileptic. So perhaps he was using some medication at the time that caused this sort of side effect. It's strange. Like, unlike a lot of you, I found him so handsome during "the Dance" dvd, but I have no clue about how he looked on the tour or subsequent press photos too well because my chronology of that time is screwed up. However, I will agree with you both in that it doesn't look healthy for Lindsey, who normally is more on the gaunt/underfed side.

Now, Lindsey these days is looking considerably healthy and in great shape. Not overly skinny and far from the other extreme. Because of this, I lay off the snide hair comments as well. He's obviously in a great place, so why shouldn't I accept that he likes to wear his hair very high and as pulled as far away from his forehead as possible? Psshh! "Small potatoes" as Lindsey would say.

Yes, I know that may happen to a lot of people, but I've never heard whispered that Lindsey had any problems along these lines.

I've heard mention in interviews and such, albeit not from the man himself's own mouth, about a growing depression during the mid years of his career. So I can only surmise on what I've heard and theorise.
