Heads-up to the 'Annabel Lee' haters: if AL track goes before ELY, I'll visit you in your graves and put a bat up your nightdress.
Annabel Lee is sometimes my favorite on the album. It's awesome. Great music, great tune, and a suprisingly different chord progression for music STevie wrote.

I ♥ ELY! I just don't get all the ruckus around the chorus/melody and Daves's very subtle vocal. The whole song is just classic CLASSIC songwriting, from the chilling lyrics Stevie wrote to the guitar solo and the sweeping orchestral breakdown - I enjoy this song immensely. However, based upon its so called controversial components & detractors, I'm not at all surprised it's about to be voted off, along with SA. Personally, I could understand voting off "Secret Love" much easier than "Everybody Loves You"! *smh*

Reading through this thread.... Y'all are crazy! Voting for songs like For What It's Worth and Everybody Loves You and Italian Summer. CRAZY I say!

I agree with Karma and Christopher. I don't understand the detractors about "Everybody Loves You" either.

I would say though that these remaining songs are all very, very good so anything being voted off now or in the future is going to be getting reactions of "Argh! This is so good, how can you vote it off??"

Food for thought: In all the other Nicks Survivor threads have we ever reached the point of "all these songs are good" as quickly as we do with IYD?

Me either. SA is probably my favorite off the whole album. And Cheaper Than Free is my least favorite...I think I've only listened to it once. Maybe twice on accident.

I have two CDs of IYD - one with My Heart (which I paid for) and one regular (which I won from a radio station later). The MH one doesn't play the last track (CTF)... and since I heard it on the regular CD, neither do I!

Amen.
That's the one I would boot out long before any other.

I voted for ELY (good verses, weak intro & chorus) and FWIW (beautiful verses, but the vocal on the chorus sounds like nails on the chalkboard. And not little nails. Giant plastic "I Can't Wait" video nails.)

Wow. I'm surprised that the song IYD has the fewest number of votes. I like it, but I didn't get the impression that many other posters did - at least not that much.

Why don't people like ELY? It might be the best song on the album. Anyway... it speaks volumes to the worth of this album that every song remaining is some kind of great or almost great.

I voted Secret Love and Wide Sargasso Sea (too long!)

I've repeatedly stated why I don't like it. Other than the two issues I mentioned, it's a great song. Unfortunately, those are two *big* issues.

Yeah Yeah, we know! The songs ridiculous techno opening 8 bars. The supposedly unbearable chorus, and the even more unbearable vocal Dave contributes - which btw allows Stevie's harmony to shine

I like the chorus, and Dave's vocal.
