I'm really starting to appreciate the album as a whole now. For the longest time, I hadn't been able to get into it as a body of work and really only truely loved a few songs. Which I wasn't surprised about, because that's usually what it's like for Stevie's solo work for me (excluding Bella Donna).
*hides* I'm not saying that she isn't one of my favorite songwriters though! I figure I mostly have come to that conclusion because a lot of the "filler" songs on her albums aren't even written by her. Anyway, back on topic, the album is growing on me so much more now - and it's not blending into each other. I still think Moonlight and Annabel Lee are overrated however, and I can't get into Itallian Summer like the rest of the fanbase... I have a soft spot for the rest of the album though. And I don't skip those songs Absolutely can't get ENOUGH of For What It's Worth - hands down my all time favorite Stevie song...ever! My top tracks now would be: For What It's Worth New Orleans Soldiers Angel - developed a new love for this one after watching that performance in the rain of it. Ghosts Are Gone You May Be The One Secret Love - I still am infatuated with how this one made it onto the album. Even though at first I didn't care much for the production - but it's still a gem in my eyes just because the demo has always been a favorite of mine. And I'm going to admit as well, I'm not the craziest about Dave's production on Stevie's work. He seems to overproduce in areas he really doesn't need to. It sort of reminds me of Lindsey's SYW production.
