She seems to be weakening (regrouping?) a bit.

That was on the radio this morning, from the AP news wire. I'm hoping the storm veers out to sea a little more then we won't get a direct hit here in the NC/VA area. Well...off to stock up!

Ummmm...the weather channel's page has in red Extraordinary Threat...hmmmm.....don't think it's weakening althoug that would be great !

The weather chat boards are exploding with doomsday scenarios around NYC. 30 million without power. Skyscrapers with shattering glass. Roads blocked for days. Floods. Locusts.

As long as I can find a clear road to Boston...

BTW, I was kidding about the locusts.

I've had a bad feeling about Irene for a few days now.

It does seem according to almost all news source's they (fema) are preparing for the worst, praying for the best, and are investing vast resources to track Irene. This has potential to impact 65 million people And to top it off, it appears it will be a slow moving storm, which could add substantially greater devastation for trees, buildings etc. My thoughts and prayers are with y'all on the East Coast. Stay safe

Don't these things randomly die out sometimes? I am seriously praying that this doesn't affect my flight and my shows....

My area of greatest concern is the coast from Ocean City, Maryland, to Atlantic City, New Jersey. It is possible that this stretch of coast will receive a direct hit from a slow-moving Category 2 hurricane hitting during the highest tide of the month, bringing a 10 - 15 foot storm surge.

I think everyone that can get to see Stevie tomorrow morning in NYC should do it but I don't hold out much hope for the shows after that. This thing is huge and slow moving.

Bethel should be fine. Boston, however... I am feverishly trying to find somewhere to escape, but this storm is so massive that I would have to drive 250 miles to get away from the damaging winds.

NY has declared a state of emergency, whatever that means.
