You'll have a great time at Durham, I have friends who go there, and they say it's wonderful. Apart from the odd snotty person.
Well I'm gonna be hilarious to all of you, that's for sure... Under 60 degrees is pretty cold to me but I guess that's what happens when you're born and raised in California!

I'm so excited to live in snow... How long is there snow on the ground?

Well, I sure will look forward to reading your posts once you're here. Our summer days don't go much above 72 degrees or so in the North East. It is warmer down south.

The snow is usually around for a couple of weeks at time or so. Last year was the exception - but, hey, being a little cold is a small price to pay for being in such a great place.

Oh dear, it'll be quite the shock. We're lucky to get near 60 degrees in any season other than Summer. Most of the time, it's quite rainy though, so it's not that cold... just wet. Basically, lots of rain, grey days and not that warm sunshine. You'll get used to it though.

Snow varies, this year it was on the ground for about two months? Other times it stays for about a week or so before buggering off. And then there was that one year when the weather went barmy and dumped a load of snow on us in June.

We had quite a bit last year, to the point that in Bradford transportation came to a complete halt. I was stranded in town at Uni and had to slog it in the snow with my rucksack and a bag of books from the library miles back to my home. Wasn't fun at all. But then again I did escape the house at 3am the next morning to make Snowmen in the garden. So obviously I didn't hate the snow that much

It was a few years back now, I don't know if it was the whole country or not, but we definitely had some here. I remember cause I was still in Secondary school (so at least four years ago) and it was awful going to an outdoor classroom cause you got pelted with iceballs

Definitely didn't happen where I live. Are you in the Scottish Highlands?

No Middlesbrough. Well, near Middlesbrough.

It was only for like, a week or so, but it was just really odd.

Weird. The funny thing is that I usually say I'm from near Middlesbrough as well.
I'm Low Grange area and I definitely didn't notice that snow in June

Mainly because people have a vague idea of where Middlesbrough is, where if you saw Billingham they're all like "....wat"

I swear, it happened. I may be getting June mixed up with April, but, we definitely had a week of snow sometime in spring/summer. Unless I'm going mad. I can definitely remember it, mainly cause it was just so weird. And the aforementioned iceballs. I remember those vividly
