This exactly is what I thought when I first laid eyes on the video, especially those scenes of her in the top hat, hair pulled back in the desert wind. It was hauntingly familiar to me. Sent me straight back to the Mirage HBO concert video performance of GYOW
Stevie looks stunning in this video! The lighting was working in her favor the day they shot this vid, or was the glow courtesy of Dave or Mike?? She loves her Highwaymen and it shows! All kidding aside, it's a beautiful, simple heartfelt video that suits the song perfectly.

I was thinking the same thing. And for a nanosecond I thought, oh, how refreshing it is to see her naturally lit with daylight streaming through the bus window. Um... upon closer inspection, the scenery scrolling by her window was clearly superimposed in post-production. And I could swear that the entire thing, except for Stevie's makeup shots, must have been shot in black and white, and then colored in post production. There is something indescribably unearthly about the colors in this video!

I also noticed that Stevie's head is in Dave's lap at 3:59. I have always found that position to be very intimate. Very, very intimate. I mean, you don't exactly go around laying your head down on the laps of casual acquaintances. After all, she can effectively feel, uh, something with the back of her head . There is a sense of intimacy between those two that seems very genuine, which is in contrast to some of the clearly staged intimacy between she and Lindsey on the stage. I don't want to go as far as to say they are bumping uglies, but, gosh, I could totally picture it.

I only watched this video once at work and I didn't see Stevie's head in his lap. I did see his head in hers.to be honest, I did go "ooooh really" bur then I shook those thoughts off! Ima have to look again now! Smh!

That shot struck me down as well. However, I froze it for a totally different reason - to closely examine Stevie flawless complexion, obviously plumped with surgical free cosmetic helper's But you make a good point...for what its worth

They just showed a clip of Stevie's FWIW new video on Entertainment Tonight. I wasn't paying attention if they announced it or what...just looked up when I heard Stevie and saw the video for about 20 sec. before they went to commercial.

Love the video. Although I find it a little ironic, given that Stevie has said she doesn't like traveling by bus. But awesome video none-the-less. The scenes of Stevie walking in the desert are very cool. I had no idea the make-up woman was Jessi until I saw some of you mention that here.

You're right about the head in the lap being a very intimate. But, to play devil's advocate, you can lay you head in someone's lap and not touch anything private - you can just be resting your head on knees and this is for a video, however I get what you're saying about how it appears with someone who could be considered a virtual stranger vs. what you call "staged intimacy" with LB.
