I probably would have never even noticed that. I just watched it again after reading your posts and when i saw them i started busting up!
As far as i can tell, they're only seen in the beginning. They probably figured no one would notice. Maybe Stevie didnt want to get her black suede boots dusty as well. :

Anyone else notice the two dogs in the road in the beginning? Kinda random.

I love the video though and cant wait to see it again on my computer at home.

i will admit that my analysis is biased by my level of fandom. however, it would be naive to say that their relationship is simply "artistic".

i'm questioning stevie & dave's actual relationship. it has nothing to do with location or enviornment.

I love Stevie and Dave together. Like you said though, it's their business.

Dave's playing a character... just like he did in the Secret Love video. Neither of those songs are actually about him, so why would that mean anything.

And why on earth would it be naive to say their relationship is professional/artistic, when that's all we have evidence that it is? Seem's like it's more of a stretch to say it's something more, if you're basing all of this off of the few touchy moments in the staged music videos.

Lots of music videos think--and achieve--big (and certainly BETTER than Ben Hur).

You mean you didn't get the bus ride as a metaphor for Stevie having an affair with her drug counselor in the song and Dave Stewart in the present?

Me either.
