Post Shocked!

Well, I was home for lunch from work. And I guess what I thought was a plane going by & the wind blowing the lamp shade in the bedroom was the earthquake. My dog didn't even flinch. And when I got back to work, they asked me if I felt it. I thought they were joking. You know, when I was younger, we had one here, & my mother said it was a plane going by when we (kids) asked. I guess that still works for me now

Happened about an hour away from me, first I thought my cat was climbing up the back of my chair rattling it but then the whole house starting shaking a bit, lasted about 10 seconds but it scared the hell out of me. I'm so jittery right now aaaaggghhh. It happened in an active seismic area though so I guess it was to be expected at some point, just glad it wasn't bad, no injuries or damage really anywhere and the aftershocks were small.

We felt it all over LI. Probably not as bad as other places but it was definitely felt. It was freaky. I felt it cause my wheelchair was rocking.

Oddly enough I'm far less worried about the hurricane, I guess because I'm very much used to those.

Default freaky...

the epicenter is about 20 miles north of me...shook the house for about 20 seconds or so...have had 4 aftershocks so far...I don't know how people in California deal with this...I'm still a bit shaky and I'm tough ...next up, the hurricane...more used to that, though...ah well, I've lived to see Stevie again on Sept. 3rd...all is good...
