I'm sorry she dropped it.
Has she ever dropped one song for another, but then returned to the first choice on the same tour? - Jake

Overall, I think IYD is a fluff song though. It actually sounds like Christine could have written it -- and Christine's songs are great when there's an underlying hollowness or yearning. But when she is just doing upbeat, they aren't as resonant and that's what IYD reminds me of. Songs like that . . . I hear them one minute and have forgotten them the next. Airiest song on the album, I think Michele |

I guess we should be happy we got a few live versions of it. We never got any live versions of Wild Heart, Rock A Little, Street Angel, or Trouble in Shangri-la.

Honestly? Keep Landslide!
Don't get me wrong--I'm as worn out on Landslide as most of you, and my fantasy Stevie show would include the new album in its entirety. But as long as Stevie wants to continue playing large venues, she owes it to the audience to give them what they've paid good money for. 99% of the audience has spent that money with the expectation of hearing Landslide. Personally, I'm just ecstatic that she's still singing 6 new songs, and that the audience is receiving them well. That's about as much as we can ask for, in my opinion.

OK-if Landslide is the most "known" song to those who aren't rabid Stevie lovers (and among those who really, really, really want new stuff to be the complete focus of the concert)...throw out something else. OR stay five minutes longer and do it. And, really, the only reason I want this particular song in there is because it does have the "darkness/beautiful day" line (and the kick-ass music that follows) which redeems the fluffiness. And she did name the album after it (I'd just as soon hear something else from the album, myself, but--to me, this makes more sense).
IF you are doing some sort of growth/reinvention, you don't sacrifice the new for the old. If you feel a need to give fans what they want...like I said, stay five minutes more and give them what you feel you'd like them to hear. After the Unleashed tour, I'm pretty sure she will never please everyone. I was up at the stage, and this woman (whose boyfriend/husband/keeper bragged about how much he spent for broker front row tickets) kept yelling at Stevie "Leather and Lace! Leather and Lace! You better sing MFing Leather and Lace." She was very pissed-off (and, in ye Olde English...pissed) by the end of the show because Stevie didn't sing L&L at a FM concert. But, whatever. I'll sing along to Landslide, I'm sure. Or, I'll mentally check out for 3 1/2 minutes;-) Last edited by Regina; 08-21-2011 at 04:42 PM.. |

Please bring it back, it's my fav song from this album! Plus it's the title track - I don't know much about the whole CD promoting thing, but it makes sense to me to keep the title track of the album in the set list to help with the promotion.

I like In Your Dreams too, but I'm actually glad she put Landslide back in the set. Even though it's not my favorite song or anything, it's the one song that everybody sings along with, and I just love the feeling of the entire venue singing along. Gives me goosebumps. As others have said, it would be great as the encore song.

I don't even like the song IYD but I'm still bummed she dropped it from the set. I'm also bummed she dropped 2 songs completely. Heck she should be singing no less than a 20 song set.

First and last songs of the night are important I think... Of all the concerts I've seen for people I was REALLY excited to see... I always remember what they opened the show with, their entry to the stage... the whole kick-off. Stand Back is a great opener too, but being it was a big hit, she could also put that song second to last, still play Love is last and open the show with IYD...

What you said :-). Landslide should remain in the set for the casual fans, but yes, drop Sorcerer and add back in IYD. Problem solved.

There's only--what--15 shows on this tour? Do "In Your Dreams" for all the reasons Regina suggested, do Landslide because it's become your most recognized sing a long, and do Leather & Lace, because there is nothing sacrosanct about Don Henley among most of your fans Stevie.
![]() It's a short tour. You can do it. |
