Sounds like Stevie rocked Toledo! Ya'll were so lucky to have experienced that eye contact intimacy w/ her. Did anyone get a video of that awesome Moonlight performance?

HA! Stevie and Company must have seen the "long live the red shawl" thread. That's hilarious.

Thought this was a great show. Hours of late-night driving and an early wake up call from my toddler later, I'm finally processing it all. I am guilty of not researching very well beforehand. Thought there would be an opener and planned to be late. I decided the morning of to leave earlier and I'm glad I did! I got there right at 8. Never tempting fate again.
I was in the 2nd row to the right of the stage. I've never been in that position before and I really (weirdly?) enjoyed watching Lori interact with the sound crew and audience. She was a lot of fun and I never knew before how much she sort of...runs the show, so to speak. She seemed very perturbed when they came out for Edge and she could smell smoke, doing cigarette smoking and hand-waving in to the crew. It was taken care of pretty quickly! Fans were trying to get her to shake hands during the Edge walk and she did a motion across her neck and mouthed and pointed to Stevie, "She'd kill me." Haha. I, too, thought the crowd, however small it was, was great and very receptive to the new music. I did my best to cheer extra loud for the new songs. A woman behind me, who was very drunk, was also super excited about the new songs screaming "SOLDIER'S MOTHER!!!" during most of the intro to SA. Poor lady almost got the boot. The fans around me were mostly enthusiastic and stood, danced, and sang along. Quote:
As the band was exiting, Carlos gave the set list to a guy up by the stage. Thought that was very cool. Stage crew just tore the rest of them up. Overall I was blown away by how amazing Stevie looked and sounded. I was pressed up against the speaker for Edge and Love Is and her voice just pierced through me. It was a very emotional closer, very moving. After the last tour and paying big bucks for Unleashed, I was really disillusioned and found myself saying I wouldn't go to anymore shows unless she released a new album. I'm so thrilled that she did, that the album is awesome, and that she is looking and sounding so happy! I hope the rest of the tour goes great for everyone! |

Hi all - as Josh (Hi back
described we were all taken back by the no opener - so grateful I didn't come later as I had originally planned or I would have missed a lot of the show. A couple observations to add After seeing Stevie both solo and with the Mac over 20 times in the last 15 years I really noticed how much more on this tour that she is actually singing not just speaking a lot of the words. So many notes were drawn out. (With the exception of the show a few years back in Youngstown where she forgot where she was during Rhiannon and even stated she thought it was the 70's again when she got all crazy at the end) While there were only about 3000 people the front section were exceptionally good about standing and dancing to old and new songs. I wish she would put the videos on some website - we want to see them and watch her at the same time. For all the talk of the red shawl and how delicate it was she tossed it on the drum stage like it was a tissue. Was funny. I love going to small city shows - you seem to get more super fans not casual fans so that is always fun. One plea to fans - do not force a non-fan to come to a show with you - there were two jack asses in the front row center that really distracted the show and ruined both Edge and Love Is for quite a few people. Hi Everybody! I’ve been lurking for awhile and having a great time - you’re all so much fun! Anyway, I went to the Toledo show and had a blast – it was my birthday, too, so that was a bonus. Stevie looked and sounded great, and the set was the same as it has been lately. I’d never been to Huntington Center before – it’s a little arena, and they had it set up to be even more intimate – the floor seating only covered about the front half of the floor. It made me kind of sad at first that the place was so empty-looking like that, but the people who were there obviously adore Stevie, so it was fine – just wish they would put her in venues the right size for the audience, or get the ticket prices worked out so they can fill the mid-price seats, as that really seemed to be the issue. I was in the second row all the way on the left outside aisle, the closest I have ever been for a Stevie show. I thought the crowd was great – everybody stood for the whole show, at least in the front where we were, so no drama about that. From what others have said it seems like things weren’t very orderly everywhere, but right where I was, I liked the way security handled things – chasing people back to their seats during the show, but letting the Edge walk happen naturally. Where I was, it seemed like everyone was pretty polite and well-behaved during Edge - of course cramming as many people in front of the stage as possible, but no pushing or shoving or rudeness. It was my first Edge walk, and Stevie held my hand for a second – great birthday present! And like everyone always says, her hands are really, really soft.

Just got back from my Toledo and Cincy trip, so I thought I'd post some photos. I set the privacy so everyone can view, but if anyone has a problem seeing them, please let me know. I did record the entire show, but I still have to go through the audio files. When I do, I'll post links for those too.
