NY1’s Shazia Khan filed the following report. Their love of Central Park was no secret — it was a place where John Lennon and Yoko Ono found peace and beauty, just steps from their home, the Dakota. The Central Park of today, however, is a far different one than the new residents experienced almost 40 years ago.“When they first moved to the Dakota in 1973, Central Park was not a very happy place, and it didn't look good, and John and Yoko actually had the idea to donate some grass seed to the park,” says historian Sara Cedar Miller.Of course, it would be more than grass seeds that would forever bind the couple to the park.In her new book "Strawberry Fields: Central Park's Memorial to John Lennon," the historian and photographer for the Central Park Conservancy details how the creation of Strawberry Fields, named after the John Lennon-penned Beatles song, would revitalize the rest of the park. http://brooklyn.ny1.com/content/ny1_...-central-park/ Japan Times Yoko Ono visits Peace Museum July 30, 2011 HIROSHIMA — Yoko Ono, the New York-based avant-garde artist and widow of former Beatle John Lennon, visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum on Friday morning.Ono, 78, was in Hiroshima to attend an award ceremony and receive the eighth Hiroshima Art Prize for her contribution to world peace through contemporary art. But a floppy "cowboy" hat worn by John Lennon when the band toured the US in 1965 is expected to fetch as much as £8,000 at auction.Lennon gave the hat – along with a toy gun – to his uncle Charlie Lennon, who was a great fan of western films. International Beatle Week Festival : Liverpool UK
August 24th to August 25th 2011 Organised by Liverpool’s leading tour operator Cavern City Tours, International Beatle Week Festival is one of the biggest music events in the world. And it takes place in the city where it all began – Liverpool. http://beatlesfestival.co.uk/ Examiner.com August 2, 2011 Beatles Cavern painting by Shannon will be on time--despite tornado scare. New Jersey - The painting of the Beatles commissioned by the Cavern Club in Liverpool with Beatles artist, Shannon, will be done on schedule after all, despite a horrific tornado that threatened her ranch in New Jersey last Friday (July 29). “I will have the project ready in time for the 50th anniversary of the Cavern in Liverpool August 30,” wrote Shannon today in an email. We reported on this upcoming painting, entitled Toppermost of the Poppermost, July 21.Much havoc was caused by the unexpected and highly damaging tornado that devastated her NJ ranch called “Shannondoah”. Hearing ominous thunder in the distance with some light rain, she wasn't concerned at first, until sudden high winds prompted her to hurriedly begin bringing in her painting supplies and gear from the back porch. She had been working on her painting of George Harrison. http://www.examiner.com/john-lennon-...alerts_article |

Awesome Sean pics, beautiful Julian song. I tried with the James McCartney music and, I'm sorry, I just can't feel it. I don't know, I think it's his voice. Not feeling it. But I'll give him some more time because he appears to be a really good musician.

I agree Nico, those are good photographs.I feel the same way about James McCartney's music as you do.I don't dislike it.I just couldn't feel it either. But James started much older as a musician and songwriter and performer.Than Sean or Julian or Dhani, or Ringo's son who is drummer like his Dad.From what I have read,he started in his early 30's.Which is not old at all.But its going a few years for him to learn what he needs to, become a good musician and performer.I did see that his Dad is one of his producers. So his his dad to will be influence on him as recording artist and performer to.I am glad Paul is supporting his son.To help keep the sharks away from him.You know there is plenty scumbags in the music world. That would love to exploit, burn and screw over one of the Beatles, Kids.I think he will improve with practice and performing with each year in the music business.Lets not forget he has Pauls genes in him to.I have some updates, before the weekend.Everyone have a safe, positive and great weekend and take care.
