They could just release a new greatest hits, live, demo, other type album and add a few studio songs w/Dave producing, a la "No Questions Asked" and "As Long As You Follow" from the '88 GH album featuring new members Billy and Rick.

Lindsey and Stevie won't be handing over a grip of new songs to the band ever again. Fleetwood Mac will get a bare minimum allotment [EP] to sastisfy as new music if the band does anything in the studio again. As far as an outsider getting a real piece of the producer's pie...

Here's a marketing thought - an EP packaged with the Rumours cd/dvd combo never released in 2009 and BN finally...

LB-as-producer is indeed the death of Fleetwood Mac. This band has no future - that's NO future - without *both* Buckingham and Nicks. I only wish I could be confident that Stevie wouldn't cave and accept FM produced by LB again, but I think she will. She shouldn't, but she will, simply because at the end of the day Dave is a working relationship and LB is much more than that. But jeez... LB is such an amateur. Maybe he'll get better, though. Go, LB!

I think an EP is a great idea and could be just the way to test how he'd work for an album. I'm not down on that plan at all, any new FM music is always great to hear. I just don't like the uncertainty and as someone else has already said, they should have learnt from the Sheryl Crow debacle and not announce anything until it is completely official. If the story gets out early - either confirm it or shut it down - don't keep it going by hinting at what may or may not be happening.

Didn't they film the Unleashed tour somewhere in HD? How about a DVD release of that with the EP?

I've heard conflicting reports about this. I've read that no filming was done and there are no dvd plans and also that one show was filmed but only for the band and there are no plans to release it. I'd LOVE an Unleashed DVD though and think they're missing a trick by not doing it. Especially at the moment.

I disagree. With The Dance and LIB already out, the band would become too saturated with "recent" live DVDs.

I think it would be good to have an updated Hits dvd, since The Dance was the last one and that was years ago now. I know a lot of people would find it unnecessary since The Dance is of course awesome but I think it could work - or maybe in a couple of years to get them back out there before they release a new album/a new tour?

If this EP happens and Dave is the producer, he needs to sit Lindsey and Stevie down and tell them that they Have to work together. No more of Stevie coming in after months of work has been done on the album. Neither one of them need to bring in songs they have already worked on. It needs to be material they write together.

I agree. Wholeheartedly. That was, I think, one of the primary issues with SYW. Hopefully that won't be a problem this time if an EP/LP/Whatever happens, because Lindsey will be promoting longer than Stevie will (presumably) and I doubt they would dream of going into the studio without him.

I think if Dave were to be involved in a future Mac project, that's exactly what would happen. It seems to me that he's good at breaking artists of their habits, and gets them to work in different ways. He definitely got Stevie to scrap her way of doing things, and Dave got in on the creative ground floor of Stevie's song building. It seems Dave likes to start with a blank slate, and just see where the music takes off to. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but the thought of Dave even producing a 6 song Mac EP is terribly exciting to me.
