I wonder if he's just saying he might, or if there are like definite plans... and an EP, not an LP?

This would be great - and an EP is perfect for the current market and time constraints.

There's typically too much material for even 1 LP! I can't see the idea of an EP happening. Maybe it will be a Double EP!

Hmm... I guess if it has to happen then an EP is better than an LP. Unless the EP is a lead up to full album then I don't think they should bother and should just do a full album right off the bat. Hopefully Lindsey still has plenty of say in the production process!

Or perhaps initial intentions to do an EP will develop into a full fledge FM cd if things progress smoothly & the creativity is there. I would be happy with a 12 track FM finale (6 from each writer). The EP idea could also be a test run to go in and record a few songs and see if things work out. Dave likes to work quickly to Lindsey's snail pace, this could be a good thing. This is encouraging news.

I'd rather an EP than nothing. But with how awesome Lindsey and Stevie's recent songs have been, I would love to hear more than like 2 songs from each of them to be honest.

I agree that if there's going to be an LP they should just skip the EP all together.

Agreed. And so we really want Fleetwood Mac's potential last recordings to be an EP?? Between the 2 of them, Stevie and Lindsey should have no problem coughing up material. But still, 12 tracks to write, produce and arrange is a hell of a lot more work than 4 or 6

I just wonder why an EP? Do they just want to be able to put it out quickly, or something?

I'm thinking maybe it's some sort of like testing-the-waters thing to see how Dave does with FM. Perhaps they didn't want to commit to a full-fledged LP with him without knowing how it would work. And by they, I mean everyone except for Stevie

I think this is it exactly. 4-6 songs, short, sweet, not very time consuming and it gives everyone an idea of how it will feel to do an album with Dave at the helm.

I'd rather have an EP, and then an album afterwards.

Extended Play. An album is Long Play, so an EP is in between a single and an album.

Thanks. I never heard of an EP before. Are they typically released or kinda rare?

So I guess it would be just a few songs maybe released digitally w/o an actual CD?

Very intriguing indeed!

EP'S are not rare. Gaga's Fame Monster was called an EP......but I would argue that. A FM EP with Dave is a great idea. see how he would fit, I hope it happens

I just want new music, tbh. I'll take whatever they want to give.

Do you guys think Stevie would co-write with Dave for songs on a Mac album? I think that would kind of be like, blurring the lines a bit... what lines I'm not sure, but I hope not.

Unfortunately those lines between Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks have been blurred since 1981, not that I have a problem with Stevie's solo career.

Now if Dave serves as a co-write on some of Stevie and Lindsey's songs, then that sounds nice and kinda bridges the gap between the two songwriters in the band.

I imagine what the fab 4 didn't like about SYW will come into play here.
