She was a Jersey girl....
the site of her would make you hurl
She was a messed up girl
and she looked like it
She would have preferred
to get off at the last exit...
but that's alright
she'll find her way

I think Jake can varify i don't wear bangle bracelets or have big hair LMAO!!!

I figured you had just cleaned up your look in preparation for Emerson.
You don't want to be like Reese Witherspoon in "Jerseyly Blond".

Newark
is the airport that I use
the vibrations
all the way to my home's back room

Oh Newark
my city
I breath your air
and cough, gasp, and gag
all the way to my doom

I'm alone now
with my thoughts
how could I live here
how can I get out
Oh what I've been though
all of the drama
smell of the dumpster
shadow of my hairdo

I'd trade you in a minute
for diamonds
hell for tin foil
for ANYTHING
just remember
I want to get the hell out of here

Oh Newark . . .

The things you learn when posting on The Ledge. What do you mean you don't have to pump your gas? I'd fall over if anyone in this town pumped my gas.
Idaho Ledgie- I meant no disrespect to you or the land of potatoes, I'm low carb, that's all. I thought it was an odd place for FM to play, not as odd as Bossier LA though. Either they're broadening they're audience by playing to the college market or these are fill in dates while they travel around.
bigmac, I hope they do come to Little Rock for you but please do not be too hard on us (former) Yankees.
And thanks to the poster who enlightened me about Lubbock being in Texas. YES, I KNEW THAT. What I meant was where in Texas.
Okay, go back to singing your songs.

another interesting tidbit - you pronounce it like you would say Beau Zsure - in case anyone might interested - although I have no idea why they would be - I've been there

I like the sound of it. I bet Stevie would like the sound of it too. Wonder if we'll get a Beauzsure song.

No one looked
we just drove by
to live in Bossier city
would be like dying

Said no to the thought
again and again
but I lost my job
and then I had to move in

so no one knows
how I feel
or what the hell I am going through
unless they drop on by

one life walked away from me
Now I lost my sanity and live with my parents again

Move out
Move out
In the middle of my room
I said what the hell am I doing
Bossier City
Its alright
(yeah right)
Its not alright

to be living with my parents
(living with my parents)
in Bossier City
WELL I COULD CRY
I need a little sympathy
for losing my sanity
I need a little sympathy - baby
Oh - I'm in Bossier City
Stand Back
Oh - I'm in Bossier City
Stand Back
Well why don't you kill me now
kill me now
(Stand Back)

LOL...that was me saying it was in Texas...
Nope, we don't pump our own gas...we have gas station attendants. Of course, there are some gas stations that offer both self-serve and full serve. But, yea, generally you sit in your car and tell them how much you want. I can just see all of you getting out of your cars to pump your own gas and having some guy that doesn't speak English run up to you and start yelling...lol... Fleetwood Mac does indeed have a LARGE spectrum of fans from all corners of the globe, don't they?? I suppose I never really realized the spectre of the Mac

You never promised me tomato garden
You never said we'd buy organic
You never promised we'd buy our veggies roadside
You only offered water ice lick

Well, I never took the time to find clean skies
How much I needed Christine Todd Whitman in order to survive
I was so fake, a princess in my time
And walk to gas pump was so far
And my tank so hard to find

You never promised me cheap bangles for suntanned arm
Boardwalk pinwheel you said was all you could buy
You never said we'd win cool prize at skee-ball
And oh my darling ate Dipstix fried

And now you're gone and I'm alone and still so phoney
My new nose still looks the same
One day I turned off the pike and I was out of hairspray
In my height there's been a big change

Now I've a beach house
With sea gulls falling dead all around
Yeah, and I've got a garden
And it's got tomatoes rotting black on the ground
Yes, and I've got casino bus trips
A & P coupons, and state trooper boyfriend
Well I've got all these things
All these things but a full spray can
For my frizzed hair
In my head band
No no, you never promised
Me Jersey tomatoes

Newark: The WORST airport anywhere.
I'd sooner land at sea than go back there.

Jake,
You're killin' me over here...
Yea, now instead of Whitman who was FABULOUS *snicker* we have another FABULOUS governor...he spent a bunch of our money to take trip to Ireland...lol...oh New Jersey, how you are the 8th ring of hell to me

Go on save yourself
leave your Buick Regal here
You belong in Boston--
you'll be free there

I have come to know that New Jersey is dumpy
Quit your job at Leslie's Swimming pool supplies--
you won't be so grumpy
So be true to you--
flee away from here--
Head up to Boston--
and have a pint of beer
AHAAAAAAAA...AHAAAAAAAAA

LOL

Until she herself
Became a gambling felon
As she grew older
Oooh, until she herself became just as cheap-spread
As casino buffet

So you swim towards
What you smell is dead
There are too many jellyfish
To clean up!
For the tax that I pay to this state
For the tax that I pay to this state
Back on the pike!
Never did I mean to
Live by the pike exit
Here in my Garden State
Like I am in prison
For the tax that I pay for good roads
For the tax that I pay for good roads
Pay the toll!

Until she herself
Took risks in Garden State
Avoided bankruptcy
No losses on slots

Until she herself
Got laid under boardwalk
Using protection
These tourists pay lots

Driving through the Garden State
I'm driving through countless toll booths
I'm driving straight towards
Straight towards
What you know is one more speed trap
Too many state troopers
For me to race down
For the love that I have for my life
Pay the fine!

Reminds me of when Philly's Wilson Goode used city money to buy himself speech lessons to help get reelected. Of course, in Philly, it worked.

Linda Ellerbee's hilarious book "And So It Goes" talks about when Goode assembled a committee to select an outstanding Philadelphian who would win a cash prize.
They picked...him!

Hey Marissa, as long as it was you that's okay. Fleetwood Mac does have a varied audience. And Boston's very nice. I grew up 30 miles south of there. They made a movie about it. It's called Outside Providence. Don't think Alec Baldwin has made a movie since.
